Of course by 2025 2TB hard drives will be tiny. Hell, nobody will have hard drives anymore.

Edit: Also, this was the next link below it in the "News" section on the home page:

IMHO EA blow as a publisher and have ruined every game I have held dear from C&C right through to Alice and Crysis, hell even mass effect and Dragon age have been crapped all over. But, once again that is just my opinion on the matter.
I weep every time EA begins publishing for good developers. That said, from what I have seen so far, SWtOR does look good, and at the very least worth a try IMO. But I see it likely that EA will within one year make an executive business decision which will leave a bad taste in the mouths of most the players. Something along the lines of annual expansions which must be purchased in order to continue play, or high teir items which are only available to people who pay extra cash (Like DLC) to get.

EA is like the scorpion on the fox's back. The fox is either the player base, developers, or (I feel) both.

I'm glad they're ambitions though; at least they're not going to p**sy out and let it die because they're afraid of losing money like so many other MMOs.
You might be right or you might be wrong. Then again, even if they achieve half of that, Id call it a win.

Instead of hoping it lasts for decades maybe the team should focus on the upcoming release and figuring out what they can do to attract and hold a large playerbase. I think making it cheaper per month than WoW would be a start.

Not to mention the amount of content they would have to keep adding over time to keep you interested for 10 years? That would be a ridiculous one time price...

The reason for the monthly fee is that you consume the content at your own pace and only the content you want to play.

How long does it take to complete the average Bioware RPG?? 10-15 hours tops if you do the side quests. Then you have a massive game like this which Bioware projects to keep fans happy for 10-15 years and you think it will be 60 bucks... lol.

If your a single player person only then i still think that this will be a good game for you. If it only takes you 2 months to complete the story then you just spent 75(first month is included) for a 200 hour Bioware RPG. Although you should try to be more social lol... co op it or something.

Plus im sure they will be updating content at least 2x more frequently than Blizzard. Lately it has been taking Blizz longer to release smaller content patches. Thats why people are quitting. When you pay a sub the developer has to earn that sub every month with new content, if they players get bored they cancel.

I have been waiting for Bioware to do an MMO for a while, if anyone can top Blizzard it will be them. Bioware is the king of RPGs, the PVE crowd should definitely be pleased. They have never made a competitive game though so the PVP might be broken for a while. Hopefully sith inquisitor is OP lol. The fact that its KOTOR just makes it even better... I have been playing KOTOR 1 to prepare... looks pretty good in 1080p with mods and still a blast to play.

While you have valid points I would like to point out that DA:O, if you do it properly takes over 50 hours of gameplay. Same with ME1 and 2

Depends on the architecture of the MMO and the storage options. Some MMOs will allow you to specify the max space that it will use, and it will remove the oldest or least used data to keep you within that cap. However that means that if you go back to old worlds it may have to re-download the data.

Of course, this is all in the 2011 mindset, fast-forward to 2025 where we will all have 2PB of storage or more and storage for an MMO won't be an issue. 2PB (2000 terabytes) sound like a lot? Go back 15 years to 1995, we all had 1-3GB of storage then, we now have 1000 times that amount.

That makes more sense
This makes much more sense. Pretending that this game will still be popular in 15 years is crazy. That would be like Doom II (1994) still being popular today...

(Yes I know Doom II was 16-17 years ago, it's just an example)

Honestly, if they really do make it this big with tons of content... I can literally see my life being signed away. Hopefully they will be kind and offer us a "lifetime subscription" rate.
