Of course that is asking a lot from a game... but if some company was willing to develop it, I would pay a lot for it.

Forza 3 will let you do that. Engine swap and all. Forza 4 comes out soon, and I'm sure will be the same since they have only gotten better with each iteration.

The game is a very good driving simulation too. Not quite the sense of speed that GT5 has on the PS3, but EVERYTHING else is much better.

GRID ftw. They should make more onroad racing games instead of just focusing on Dirt and F1. F1...meh. GRID wheee.gif. Dirt 3 wheee.gif. GRID 2 would be epic. Let's just hope it's just like Dirt 3 but on the road...if they ever make it.

Forza 3 better than GT5? Please. Neither are excellent but at least GT5 tries to be a sim. Forza 3 is pretty arcadish in the handling department.

Hardly equals fun though, as much as I love sims, I have to admit Forza is quite a bit funner to play than GT5 usually.

To be honest, I spent alot of time in GRiD, I completed it 100% over all availiable platforms, and loved Online on PS3 and XBOX enough to actually complete that too. (max level n00bs) I feel upset that they pulled servers, and left us without a 3rd party fall back, It obviously still has a following.

For all the people whinging about how un lifelike where does it say its a SIM, I personally enjoyed this more than GT5 because GT5 was too boring, this was fun and made racing entertaining.

Codemasters is probably the best racing game dev in recent console generations, and i will still purchase theier games, but I will take into consideration Online play in future.

Whoa, I can't let this one slide. I was too disappointed by GT5 to let it go.

Most of the cars don't even have a cockpit view, the menu's are SLOW. Loading is atrocious. There is no damage. Tire deformation doesn't exist. The dead zones and level of gas/brake on the triggers can't be controlled in the options and always feels like a button (go and no go). The controller itself is horrible for driving games. No drifting. The upgrade system is crap (engine upgrade 1-2-3, etc... No real parts to put on). No damage. No engine swaps. Tuning that has parameters you are stuck within, that are different for every car. Horribly laggy online. No real paint shop. Only 200 "premium" cars, the rest are repeats DIRECTLY from GT4 on PS2, and they LOOK IT (horrible) and have no cockpit view.

I'm sorry, but you can't polish a turd and call it chocolate to me. I waited for that game for FOREVER... And was severely let down. Forza 2 is better than GT5, and Forza 3 is better than Forza 2. Figure it out.

Forza has:

Damage
Drifting
Cockpit view for EVERY car
Real Upgrades that make sense
Better Graphics
Fast Menus
Great Upgrade System that reeks of realism
Better Camera Views (even if you don't like cockpit mode)
Better online with less lag and DAMAGE
A REAL PAINT SHOP that lets you do anything, and I mean ANYTHING
Better Cars

I am SORRY, as an avid racing fan, car enthusiast, mechanic by trade, and all around gearhead... If you have played both games there is no way GT5 holds water against Forza unless you just love your Playstation more.

GRID was a better racing game than GT5 is, even if you like sim... At least GRID is fun, and you spend more time racing than staring at loading screens only to be greeted with bad graphics and a horrible selection of cars. Plus the graphics were great, unlike GT5.

lawl Forza 3 is/was a joke. Forza 2 was a much more serious racing game.
