Going Overboard? GTX 570 or 560

Thread Starter
So as you can see in my signature I am going with the Gigabyte super overclock series GTX 570 for my build.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125382

The GPU is pretty much the last thing I need to order. I was just wondering if getting the 570 would be a waste. Should I just save the $100 and go with the 560 Ti and then buy another one for SLI down the road?

This build is pretty much for Skyrim. I wanna run Skyrim at max settings, no lag, but I wasn't sure if the 560 Ti could accomplish that. Suggestions? Sorry, I'm a newb when it comes to computers if you haven't noticed. :|

They say the recommended type of NVIDIA graphics card is a GTX 460, so I think you're right that a GTX 560 Ti is just about right and that a GTX 570 is overkill.

Although when it comes to things like this, going overboard is half the fun.

The additional VRAM will help when those texture mods start pouring in. I don't think any single card is really overkill when it comes to modern games. Hell, I'll probably add a second 570 to the one I'm getting this week

That Palit is really expensive. But the TF2 is highly recommended.

Well, I was just considering dumping the 570 to save some cash. As long as the 560 Ti can run Skyrim maxed out, no lag, I would gladly buy it and run it in SLI down the road.

EVGA GTX 570 HD 2560MB for total overkill.

So when it comes to the 560 everyone seems to really like the gigabyte 560 Ti super overclocked series. I might end up going with the 560 and then running SLI down the road.

Has anyone heard any good things about this?

It's cheap and it hasn't been reviewed....
