Questions about the M8

Thread Starter
Hey this is my first post here and I'm really interested in the M8 but before I order it I want to make sure I have everything I need.

In a couple threads people talk about having trouble mounting fans because the screw holes are too small. What size screws do I need to buy?

How hard would it be to mount a res on the vertical accessory mount and will it fit on the PSU side?

And I plan on putting fans on the bottom as intake 3 on each side ( no rads on the bottom). Would this keep me from putting the PSU on the bottom slot or would I need to buy the bracket to mount a PSU in the second slot?

Thanks for your time.

Thanks and welcome to OCN!

For screws: 6-32 x 1.25" will work everywhere. We will be changing the fan mounts (MAC-113 & MAC-170) to accept fan screws to make things easier.

You might be able to mount a rad on the vertical mount. You would probably need two MAC-114 fan mounts to anchor each end of the radiator. You would probably have to drill a couple of holes for screws in one of the fan mounts to get the spacing you need.

If you put fans at the bottom of the case you will need to mount the PSU in the upper bay.

Best regards

What about a reservoir on the vertical mount? I'm trying to figure out where I'm gonna put everything so I can start ordering.

To mount a reservoir on the vertical mount, you would need to use either a small attachment plate (MAC-116) or a large one (MAC-118). In most cases, the small one works fine.
