Should I use an old amp (Akai AM-2800) and speakers Sansui (SP X7000) with my PC?

Thread Starter
Currently, I just have a Sennheiser PC350 with a portable headphone amp for my PC.

I also have a AM-2800 amp and two SP-X7000 speakers sitting around. My sound card is HT Striker.

I believe these are many decades old, but they still work. Do you think it would be worth the effort and work to get these two hooked up on my computer somehow? If so, where would I start..?

EDIT: Actually, just to use it with my headphones. Will the AM-2800 serve better as headphone amps than my portable PA2V2?

Some 3.5mm-to-RCA cable from the line out off that HT Striker soundcard to the AM-2800 (AUX input) and connect up your speakers via speaker wire to amp and it's all good Most old school amps IMO are built for driving speakers and have a weak headphone jack so you can try it out with that amp as well as PA2V2 and compare hehe

ditto on trog's suggestion. I connect my PC to an old Fisher amp that way (Well technically I have a relay-switcher in between, but same idea).
the cables are few bucks and if you don't like it you aren't down much since you have the gear already

I've not been impressed by the headphone-outs of old equipment, but there's always exceptions. My old Sansui amp's headphone out sounds like my old onboard: like I'm listening with a cardboard tube on my ear. My Fisher sounds much better comparatively, but sounds just plain warmer than any of my other amps (tweaked cmoys, mini^3s, some diy concoctions, and a minimax).

edit
don't get me wrong, I like the fullness a warm sound gets.
the older equipment I've played with just seems a bit over-emphasized in the bottom end even if I try to EQ it out.
