GTX 460 or AMD 6850

Thread Starter
I already bought the GTX 460 1GB from Newegg. I am wondering if it's worth the hassle of returning it and exchanging it for the 6850?

The 6850 is faster, but only by about 6%. Its also very efficient

Keep it. The old benches had the 460 at lower clocks than they do today and it still kept up with the 6850.

I'd go 6850 but if you already have the 460, no point

Get a 560ti if you are changing, but keep the 460 if you aren't.

Go for 6850 would be better than keeping 460, 460 needs two 6pins so that it will need much power consumption, of course would cost you more money.
but if considering about the performance, these two will only make a little difference, just depend on what you really care about.
Why the hassle ? i mean even though the 6850 is faster, it's not like its faster by 50% So if you're gonna change the 460 just change it with a card which is really faster than your current card lets say the 560 Ti !! But if not then keep your card cuz it's really not worth it

I found the same 460 but with 2GB of memory. I only play on 1920x1080, so would the performance difference be that huge? What does a larger memory do anyways?

More vram helps at higher resolutions (Higher than it matters for you, anyway) so it doesn't really help in your case.

6850 is the card sent from AMD to replace gtx 460 from whatever spot it had, since Nvidia cards overclock better yields I think you can keep it with ease of mind.
