Dust

Thread Starter
I live in a very dusty area and my Antec 900 case sucks in insane amounts of dust, so much dust that I have to clean it every week. Cleaning is fine, but cleaning the Antec 900 is a PITA, dust gets stuck in between the fan grille and the hdd bays, inside nooks and crannies and basically everywhere in the case, and it's not a little dust so cleaning it proper takes me an hour or two. I don't mind cleaning but I would like something that can last a month without accumulating **** tons of dust and which is easier to clean.
Any suggestions?

I clean my HAF 932 once a week too.

There really isn't much you can do about it really. More airflow = more dust.

change your type of pressure, not sure which one, but research negative and positive case pressure, ones good for dust the other is bad, find some filters and put them over all the fans and clean them once a week? vacuum the room lots and dust it, keep windows open if possible, dont bite your nails or anything that will leave excess dead cells, keep animals out of the pc room, all will help cut it down, especially dusting and vacuuming.

Buy a compressor. Super easy to use to keep cases clean and it only takes me 15min.

Otherwise look into cases with air filters, or buy some. The downside is they restrict airflow and dust still gets in (my p180 mini has filters).

Get some pantyhose and make some airfilters. I'v seen it done before.
I sugest buying them online and not in the store because you might get some strange looks.

Lol, it might be worth going to the store to buy the pantyhose just to weird people out, but yeah I will probably borrow my girlfriends . If that doesn't work should I try this

? Is there a cheaper alternative? Are portable vacuums safe to use?

just get one of these suckers. Data Vac

Got one about a year ago, haven't looked back since. Cleaning my case takes about 5-10 mins depending on how thorough I want to clean it.

Air compressors are not that good for PC's. Water can condense inside the air tank and spray a mist of water all over the electronics inside a PC.

generally vacuums are not that great of an idea to use on components that are at risk with static electricity, as vacuums do create static electricity.

Data Vac's aren't really Vacuums at all. They are more like electric cans of compressed air. Don't know why they are called Data Vac
