H50-cooled PC bursting into flames

Thread Starter
Ok, not quite that hot, but its getting pretty hot. It's idling around 36c degrees, even. I think I've got to be doing something wrong...

I've newly installed an H50 cooler and have moved everything over to a HAF 932, but during the maximum test on IBT I get temps high enough for a super scary thermal shutdown.

Attached should be an image with what I'm talking about. Is this to be expected with my system and its cooling, or do you suppose there is anything I could be tweaking?

for 4.0ghz OC, those temps are decent. When it goes 75c and above, then you worry.

Sorry to disappoint!

If these are the normal temps, I'm in trouble. The Phenom II shuts down at 62 degrees :\\

Phenom II shuts down at or around 75c. 55c is the max safe stable OC temperatures. 62c may be a little unstable, but still alright.

Run Prime95 for 24 hours. If it BSOD's, it's unstable, in the process, monitor the temperatures and see how high they really go.

Ay, I've lowered back down to my last stable OC at 3.8. I'm just frustrated that everyone else with this CPU seems to get 4.0 easily by just adjusting the multiplier but this one just doesn't want to hold steady there. Thanks for the input.
