460's in sli are extremely powerful, but you'd need 2 2gb cards. It would be faster than a 580 at that point, and roughly the same price. Though, I'd still choose the single card solution for the price.

SLI 460's can sometimes be purchased for the price of a single 570, it's a great setup.

So that is clearly out of the box now. What do you guys think would be the best card for the money at this point? If you are willing would an amd card be better? I know this is the nvidia forum

I'd say go after a 470 or 2 in the marketplace here. They're going cheap cheap, and are crazy fast in sli.

Do you need the 2GB of VRAM? For a little more you could get two 460 1GB's or a 560/560ti/6950
