GTX470 water block options / XSPC RASA GPU Block work with stock cooling?

I got a reference GTX465 flashed to 470 and want to waterkewl it. I don't need to waterkewl it but I thought why not, I plan to keep this card for a long time as it performs very well and cost only 97 bucks and should last 5 years. Plus it will help with the fan noise.

Problem is I can't find a water block that will werk with the stock heat sink that covers the vrms and memory chwips. Here is a pic of what I would like to do:

mcw60topx1024.jpg

Now the mcw60 is discontinued and the only other awption is this one:

Idea was also to keep the original gpu shrowd on and just cut holes so that the tubes come out of the shrowd.

Why do you want to keep the uni-sink it looks hideous. didnt read!

Ek-fc470, Koolance VID-NX470 will fit. -both manufacturers say it will

the 465 is the same as the 470 in terms of layout it has 1 or 2 less chips.

The thing about the mcw60 is that it doesn't have a completely flat base like that rasa block that you linked. The mcw60 has a step on the base and that allows it to work perfectly with the unisink on the card.

You can always keep an eye out for a used one. I just sold two of them yesterday.

This one has the same amount of chips. Basically the same as a 470.

Can the reference unisink be modded so that the rasa block will fit without compromising cooling. Maybe just filed down to allow enough clearance for the rasa block. I know this will void the warranty but for a $96 card with only a 90 day warranty I'll take the risk.

I've heard of other people doing that to fit a mcw80 on w/ the stock reference cooler.

Off topic...but now you know why I bought them...I got in on that PNY GTX 465 to 470 deal myself.

Back on topic:
The MCW80 will work, as well, but you need to pick up the GT-400-Rev2 mounting bracket.

What's the cost of the FC blocks? The MCW60/80 can be had in the $30-$35 range, plus another $8 or so (shipped) for the Swiftech bracket.
