Hi, I reformated my son's PC, but when i installed Skype & tryed to run it, the PC froze, i've tryed different versions & a couple of suggestions from the Skype forum, but it's still doing it?

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Another left field suggestion... is your USB camera clashing with anything? Installed properly?

I thought the same thing to, USB Camera is a Logitech & the driver is installed, tryed to run skype with & without the camera plugged in, i also read on the Skype forum that Skype has some issues with Logitech cameras, but it's strange as it was all working before the format.
Edit: & Ooops the camera driver is installed but not the software, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Edit: x64 bit Skype version not working either.

Here, try this version, it's been the best for me. Turn off the automatic update feature, it may try to upgrade once even after you turn it off but just say 'no' to it and it shouldn't bug you again.

The version I linked is 4.1.179, it's been the most stable version I've used with Windows 7...

Hope it helps/works for you!

I would try the beta and see if that helps as well.
