Newbie to Watercooling needs some advice

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

I'm currently using the Lian Li PC-A70F which I've modded to fit a top 360 radiator and I plan to watercool my AMD Phenom II X6 1100T for now. However, I will also WC my GPU in the future once I'm settled into WC.

So here are my questions:

- I've ordered a XSPC RX 360 from my local WC store in Singapore... Will a XSPC RX 360 be able to handle an overclocked Phenom and a (non-OC) GTX 580?

Other rads that are available in SG include EK, Swifttech and HW Labs

I won't OC the GPU...only the processor will be OCed

- What are the fans that I should consider for the rad? I know that everyone uses Scythe GTs but they are too pricey for me so I'm looking for alternatives..

Here are some brands that may fit the bill:

1. Yate Loon (my local WC store sells them)

2. Aerocool Sharks

3. Scythe Ultra Kaze (Have to get these online from Hong Kong)

Thanks for helping everyone!

PS: Sorry if you can't understand my grammar..I do hope the grammar is correct!

Yes

Take a look at my rig (log in sig)

Running my i5 750 and GTX 480 which I have OC'd both on the same loop and it runs nice and chilly.

I have Cheapy Xigmateks as of right now, but I am planning on upgrading to some GT AP-15's when Performance PC gets them in stock. The Silverstone Air penetrator are also excellent for rads as it focuses the air instead of just blowing it around.

If you can't afford them, any fan really works. Noctua's are very quiet and still move a nice amount of air. Look around the forum for comparisons, I will link the one I used when I find it again.

Thanks guys!

Okay a 360 radiator it is then. And Yate Loon Mediums for me...

To mastical: I presume that's the 33dBA, 70+ CFM Model right?

To chunkylad: Got your rig title from Fallout 3? I have played Fallout since the original Fallout 1 and that super classic Fallout 2!

PS: Although Singapore residents are schooled in English from junior to college...

English is usually not spoken at home so English Literacy can be meh at times

Indeed I did

Found the thread I was looking for. http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...d-4-gt-vs.html It was under water cooling and not air cooling Good comparison of the tones of fans and the CFM they push. Keep in mind that the Air Penetrator (AP) models will not have as high of a CFM, but they do push more air onto where it is facing. Best for heatsinks, radiators, GPU's (when applicable) and a few other components.

Hey there iDaryl,

So what are these fans that you will recommend in the 25-30dBA noise level? I do hope the brand is available in Singapore...otherwise it's newegg for me

this can run 2000RPM at 29 dbA....though it burns a hole in your pocket.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/84...l=g36c437s1127

that is, if you're cool with international shipping.

2000RPM fans aren't optimal for this rad, 15-1600RPM has the best performance to flow. Also helps keep noise down. If noise is a large concern, like I said before, try out Noctua's. They are known for being silent and powerful.
