Forward assist! That's it... not bolt release. Sorry for living in a country that has really strict gun laws.

slapping the side of the gun to release the bolt... that's been in about 20 bajillion games now... just give me a nice, proper, to-the-manual reload please

Hmmm there was no sound, that's a glitch! no son, that's a bug

i think the muzzle flash looks real bad

First off, we are really being a bit picky here. This is an alpha that nobody is supposed to see.

I like that they finally put a Glock in the game, because that's what I shoot regularly in IDPA.

One minor thing that bothered me is that when firing quickly, it looks as though the slide is staying back. In actuality, the slide is moving so fast that it should look like its staying forward.

The reload animation looked great. It goes so fast that you can see him drop the mag, insert the new one, but can't tell if he hits the slide lock. Although it is fairly common that slamming the magazine hard into the weapon will release the lock on its own. It's kind of a little bonus when it happens.

So far, so good DICE.

To the manual is to use the bolt release. It's not just slapping the side of the gun - there's a paddle there that you're supposed to hit which is on the side of the gun. Running the charging handle is usually only done in games for a flashier animation but it wastes time.

ETA: these discussions might be called nitpicking but considering that BF3 is trying to be authentic, or at least more authentic than COD, they should get these things right. There are a lot of features that COD4 actually gets right, and one of them is proper reload animations.

Doesn't anyone else see this as a rather pointless video?

"I'm going to show you the weapon customization. ...I don't have any unlocks yet. So I can't show them to you." "Here's the custom vehicle stuff. ...I don't have any, because I didn't kill many people with it." "Here's the revive stuff. *no one to revive*" Thanks. I never would have figured out what the shock paddles were for without this video.

Also, you can't judge how recoil is affecting your aim at a 10 foot distance. Shoot at something 100 yards away and see how it affects your aim.

BC2 was nothing great, I can't understand the hype about this game.
Uh.. Let's see. PC FIRST. DX10-11 exclusive. Sequel to epic BF2. Yeah, I think that justifies the hype.

I noticed this as well, looked very odd indeed.

Kind of funny to watch him slide across the ground after reloading without using his arms and firing haha.

It's always fun to see what has yet to be completed when a game is being made, kind of makes you appreciate the finished product a little more. "Oh hey! They fixed this animation, it looks great now!"

I'd prefer single/3 rnd burst for authenticity. I can live with single/auto for gameplay purposes. But 1-3-A?!? How annoying. I wish they'd just get that one more thing right. I love practically everything else that I'm seeing so far.
The main developer said on Twitter this was to balance it out (AK would by auto and M16 would only be burst). After playing America's Army 2, I can vouch for this. Also everytime an enemy soldier was dropped in small maps, someone would pick up his AK so they could have auto. Smart move, IMO. I alway liked BF because it had realism but knew when it was too much.
