Biggest Overkill PSU ever.
Why did you buy a 1200w? Are you going quad sli 580s?

Same reason alot of people do things. "Simply put" cause they can.

I want to upgrade the video cards here eventually within the next year. 1200WT is a LOT of power i know and the case is already maxed out! so the next big video upgrade will include a new case (full size maby TH10). The the main purpose of this machine is long life (and tricked out eventually) . That way I'm not buying a new machine in 3 years time. I am going to keep buying better parts until the MB is not supported anymore.. its impossible to keep up in today's computer world financially with technology unless you have stupid amounts of money at which point you should be donating it to those of us on OCN that could use it! This build allows me to have a decent machine with nice parts to begin with and then replace them selling the old parts with little wear and tear! so this build is more of an experiment in that realm of everlasting life for a pc by replacing parts! Maby i should rename it from Armored Matrix to Fountain of Youth!

So I have been thinking maybe I want to do a custom water cooler even though I never done before. Any suggestions? Would this give me better cooling than an H80??

water cooling gets very expensive when you decide to add more parts to your loop (like motherboard NB SB MOSFET and graphics cards).

However, for a CPU solution it will net you the most impressive cooling you will never believe. And it can cool everything, you just have to shell out for it.

So in other words maybe something I need to consider when I go to a full atx case. For now then I should keep with the H80 kit. Still wana know if the H100 would fit the case.

So.. I have been thinking that since I am going to upgrade the Video eventually I need to get an idea of what to look for so I started out looking around on the Nvidia threads and of course i came across the Surround Gaming Thread and of course this is one thing I will be trying with my 450s but I do not think they will cut it for very long so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am thinking I will wait to see what the video cards that may be coming out in January to see what I can lay my hands on then! Otherwise i will be laying my hands on either 3 GTX 570s or 3 GTX 580s. there is a difference of about $200 between one card and the other but performance wise i am not sure yet. Of course these are future upgrades. I am also looking at the Case labs TH10 to upgrade to eventually because i KNOW i am already going to outgrow this case (Poor planning on my part).

So FINALLY almost everything came in (still missing 2 cables so not all the HDs are on Raid array yet but here are photos of the build. Ended up with the H80 and will be stress testing tonight at 3.8 GHz
Here we go!

Beautiful case IMO but will upgrade to somthing larger later I can assure you.

removed all thermal paste that came with the system and used OCZ Freezone

Starting to take shape. I must say I am not use to having place to hide cables this is something completely new to me and definitely something I will have to get use to. any suggestions on my cable management would be much appreciated.

Yep my cables were everywhere at this point and I was sweating wondering IF i was going to be able to finish that night!

Starting to take shape, this is something I am going to have to go back and redo as you will see in later pictures!

I used some Auto cable wrap for hiding the yellow of the cables until i get some shrink wrap to make them all pretty.. its definitely red necked!

All HD installed.. However ran into a snag with the power supply didnt have enought LP4 to power everything so I used one splitter I had in my tool box and ordered the rest of what I need. as of right now i am running my RAID 10 at -2 HD :\\

So everything started up and posted fine (had to reseat the memory only one time which i was impressed with i must say!) things to do!

Current Tasks:
1) Clean up Cabling in front and back.
2) Install Parts to get other 2 HD into RAID array.
3) Found out that I do not have enough space for all 3 monitors at this point so Current Desk has to go and bring in my spare work table.
4) Get mounting brackets that fit my monitors to the Monitor stand.
5) Test stability working way up to 4 GHz+!
6) Benchmarks for baseline (windows 7 rates it at 7.3 but that is not a good baseline for comparison!)

Future Tasks:
1) Cold Cathode Lighting the inside of the box
2) Shrink wrap all cable that is exposed.
3) Get to Overclocking!

Future Upgrades:
1) Larger/Faster SSD Drive!
2) Upgrade video cards something better than the 450
3) Tri/Quad SLI (Why? Because I can and i need to put the PSU to use)
4) More Memory as Needed when it drops in price. 12GB is way more than i think this pc needs but the price is dropping so no reason not to!
5) Upgrade Liquid cooling to custom cooling but only after the Video Cards are upgraded.
6) Purchase 3 Identical Monitors
7) Add more fans to the case.

OK so i am running Folding @ Home and BIONC as general stressors to the system instead of a real benchmark. I wanted to see how the system would handle my day to day applications before i ran benchmarks. Right now the CPU is running on average 76C under load with the H80 at full blast @ 3.8GHz and the GPU is running around 63C at 93% Load. i think the CPU is running sort of hot IMO. will let it run over night to see what happens.
