Why do you use molex adapter to power your GPUS??! Why not use 6PIN connector, you probably have plenty of them with that 1200W PSU...

Hrm.. PSU was missing some cables when I got it. After looking over what I had I am missing 2 Molex and a SATA cable... So Called Silverstone and they are sending me the missing cables! smile.gif again that is what i get for building a PC at 3 in the morning with work to go to the following morning! On another note everything seems stable at all stock speeds. I tryed to enable X.M.P. on my ram and it says the processor is improperly overclocked so I am going to have to look into that. I will do that once i get the extra HD's in the Raid Array next week. then let the fun begin! smile.gif

Honestly i used the Auto Level Up Feature in the Bios to OC it haven't gotten down to the Nitty gritty on it yet as far as manual OCing. got the cables in from Silverstone and going to install them this weekend as well as finalizing the RAID array with an estimate 2.6TB. Everything was backing up as i left for work today. I found a good OC guide here from Asus and will probably use that as the guide. I still have to figure out why when i configure the ram manually it doesn't regonize the processor. probably cause it isn't oc to the proper frequency is the only thing i can come up with on my own. ill do some research at work today and see what i can find out.

That explains the excessive heat then tongue.gif

Obviously you need to learn how to overclock that CPU yourself if you intend to take it any further.

I know you have said your using auto overclock settings but what vcore does CPU-Z show the CPU is getting under load? im only asking as its common knowledge that auto overclock settings and software usually push excessive voltage through your components, sometimes at levels that could be deemed dangerous or harmfull to the lifespan of your new CPU,im sure you wouldnt want to cause harm to your new CPU.

Maybe its worth you setting it back down to stock clocks and voltage until you fully understand how to overclock using voltages and settings that wont cause permanent damage to your hardware.

I dont mean to sound like a clever ass,im just worried you may harm your components thats all.

As for overclocking, you dont need to go any futher than this forum for that, you will likely find better help here anyway.

OK Got the cabling in (will update the build log to reflect that) and took some more photos of the final cable management. it looks good considering i haven't done something like that in a while!

Now on to overclocking, benchmarking, and thermal control!

^^I Agree very much so! I have seen rigs with the same basic setup over 4GHz so I know its phesable and more than likely possible depending on temperatures.

I dont want to harm it! BUT i am not going to baby it smile.gifIll have to get the CPUZ when i get home. I went back to all stock for the time being i haven't had a lot of time to play with the poor thing but its been doing some folding and BIONC processing while I have been away.

WOOHOO!! I have been trying to read up on it while away from the pc.. unfortunately my job/gf/second job keep me pretty busy so i dont feel like doing much when i get home. I do plan on OCing this puppy and already have in the works a secondary server setup I am thinking about building. this computer has been an obsession of mine for a year now (taking into account the time that I started researching parts better than a year!) So its been a slow road up to this point i dont need to do anything to destroy what i have worked so hard to build. Now getting to the next point (ocing and working the kinks out) i hope it wont take a year to do that!
