The link you posted to the "older" Lightning is not a Lightning at all. That's simply a TwinFrozr II edition.

Lightnings have two models. Extreme and regular, both equipped with the Twin Frozr III heatsink. One with blue fans and one with black fans.

The Extreme is 3GB and comes with color changing fans and a BIOS code that spins the fans in reverse for a few seconds to suck out all the dust from the heatsink.

Aren't those cards meant for the ln2 niche market.
I don't even know why they include a fancy heatsink
