In regards to this ability delay thing. Can someone please explain it to me. I am in no way calling people liars I just don't get this problem at all and have not experienced it.

For example: When I use my droid cc on my marauder i can force leap right after the bar finishes and skip shooting out the lightning bolt at it. I can also cancel ravage at any time and run away and the damage always seems to tick as its supposed to. Finally all my instants seem to work fine. I hit deadly saber while in the air during force leap and ive never had it fail.

I play an annihilation specced marauder. I can't comment on other classes but as a marauder i just don't see anything.

A example is has a Mercenary I have a aoe knockback ability called Jet boost. When I activate Jet Boost I have to wait about a second for my character to jump into the air and do the animation and then enemies are knocked back

Alright I can understand that, I just don't see that as an issue. Force slam works the same way. Damage doesn't happen until i actually perform the slam, so what I do is hit as im running into the group so that when the slam hits im right where i wanted to be. I don't consider this to be clunky just different that what we are all used to.

On another note they really need to fix the bugged quests in your quest log. I don't ant to go finish them and i can't pick up all the dailies on belsalvias lol.

There are 2 issue related to ability delay. First the global cooldown will lock up most of the instant ability. You can hit it like 10 times it will not activate... it's kinda annoying when you needed before you get killed or target ran away. I died most of the time in combat because of the bug. GCD lock up.

 

Second issue is that effect applies after the animation finishes. Republic side animation is way slower than Imperial. You know the outcome base on animation -> effect.

I had a feeling that the engine is advancing so much into some unnecessary features which will bog down the FPS etc.

I've missed the beta, and I do not know how was it. What's different now and beta. Maybe you can explain that. Distance drawing?

You sir, are incredibly misinformed and I will address this because I HATE misinformation being strewn across as fact.

The Heroengine was originally DX9, it is no longer DX9...You can actually see this stated as early as august of 2010...I assure you, the engine is capable of DX11 however, the clinetside cannot handle it.

The ORIGINAL engine was a DX9 engine because it was essentially being used to piggy back off of WoW/Everquest (Played on their emulator server for fun) and was later adapted FULLY for the Star Wars platform.

So, the answers were provided over a year ago and they were what the beta community experienced.

The point here is that the consumer end cannot handle what the engine itself, is capable of doing but, in the future, PC's will be capable of making full use of this engine...Right now, it's just not possible...That's //NOT// the fault of Bioware...They did not intentionally make a game that your PC could not handle...However, when it came to light that it was the reality, they streamlined the game into DX9 and dropped graphics to a platform that every single individual could handle.

In beta there were performance issues...and this is an issue that can only be corrected in time...

I ask that next time you bring this topic of DX up, you actually do the research prior to typing.

Hardcore PVE and PVP players need the abilities to activate when they push them instead of after a animation.
Also I hear tanks have it pretty bad because there constantly doing the dodge or parry animation

Ya know I try to avoid this thread as often as possible b/c I know I get upset in it sometimes and I just do not want to be a freaking troll. However every time I do come here Masked has made another post in his usual arrogant tone and it just burns me. The only reason this community puts up with it is b/c people feel "special" talking to someone who they think is some big shot.

As stated earlier, you pick an engine that flat out can't be run by even the most modern of pc's with the most powerful equipment, yet it looks worse then numerous games released years prior. That is a problem. DX9 or DX11 who cares when the end result is that even if you do max it's current limitations no system will be capable of running it and even if they did it would look sub par.

You say that's not Biowares fault so I'd love for you to tell me whose fault it is. Surely it's not the consumers, I mean we have so much input on how the devs create the game.

Lastly I will say again I do like this game and I do like Bioware. The only two problems I have with Bioware is this engine they chose thus making the graphics lack and secondly some of the people they chose to employ smile.gif
