when I first heard about the game i figured there would be jedi knights everywhere, and sith would be the lesser played. Its too bad BW marketed the game to make sith look more BA.

Yeah,
My primary is a Jedi Sentinel because I couldn't resist the chance to play a Jedi and dual wield Light Sabers. It's a blast, but I want to play something else next time so I'm going to either roll a Commando, or maybe a Bounty Hunter if I choose to actually bounce to our Sith side server/guild.

im a commando and its a blast, but i'm definitely getting the saber itch... moontard man, i hear you about actually using your saber too, so i'll prob go jedi knight... which yeah, bacheezi, i thought thered be loads of jedi running around too... its actually why i rolled a commando, was sure there would be way too many jedi at launch... instead, theres way too many sith (which i knew there would be)... makes it tough for us republic guys lol

I'm sticking to Republic, I would play Sith but not anytime soon at the moment.

I am in the closing stages of my shadow (2 more levels to go) and I can make the following observations, for you or anyone else who considers to play shadow smile.gif.

1. Playing this class requires patience as it is very slow to attack targets. The only way to get close is to use force sprint, other than that, goodluck keeping up with sentinels and guardians biggrin.gif.

2. You need to make a good plan before getting into battle. I have developed a reflex now that I am cloaked most of the time. The farther you progress in the game, the harder it is to get close undetected. For example, from level 44 onwards, I noticed that I need to use complete blackout more to avoid detection. Also, could be a bug, but enemies often detect my companion and because of that I end up in fights I don't need. Yesterday, I have done the longest heroic of my life. It was on Voss and I was with two sages. We had to destroy 11 tanks where enemies had 85-125k life or something like that. At the end, we had to kill the boss with 192k life. So you can imagine, me a shadow, dps, getting healed like crazy by the sages, took me 15 mins to kill the boss. My fingers were hurting at one point and I had to connect my g700 via USB because I drained the battery. A huge disadvantage with the Shadow when you play with sages is that you need to mind maze cloaked. Why is this a disadvantage? Well, in the same heroic, you had 3-4 elites close to one another. So 2 sages and 1 shadow can disable 3 enemies. These two sages were often trigger happy and did not wait for me to get close to the target cloaked and mind maze it. So I ended up in the following situation : fully cloaked heading to my marked target by the time I got in range, the sages lifted two targets, cancelled my move, decloaked me and I ended up fighting two elites instead of one. So your team needs to be patient if you are a shadow.

3. When I play with guardians and sentinels, I have another problem. Many players are there to mash buttons and kill quick. When they do that and jump on targets, I cannot keep up, even with force speed so of course we end up dead because they attack 4-5 targets and I cannot isolate any of them in battle.

4. The Shadow is not very PVE friendly and a few reasons are stated above. You always have to cancel targets, stun, get behind, stab, slash, project, force breach, whilst a lot of damage it takes a long time mad.gif. Also, I cannot play with a tank companion. I have Nadia Grell and I gave her my fully modded gear. She has 46-48 mods on her and does over 550 damage but when we get into 27k boss fights we both die. I need a healer in many situations. Holiday is a must for those 7 seconds as it gives you space to breathe. So yeah, as a Shadow, the best experience is with a healer companion.

5. When it comes to PVP, things are a bit different. The Shadow is great and offers a lot of flexibility. You have 3-4 spells to counter inquisitors and provided you are not surrounded by 3-4 level 50 ones, you can take them down thumb.gif

Did two runs of the fp False Emperor today and the final fight was great. A guild member went from 49 (just dinged) to 50 with just those two runs. If you don't want spoilers don't read on.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I was surprised when I saw this guy, made my day:
338
He calls the team "meat bags" and everything biggrin.gif. Also the last boss (Malgus) needs someone on the team with harpoon (vanguard) or at least two sages to knock him off the edge of the fighting area because he becomes immune at 2% of his health with no other way of killing him from what we could see. His buff literally makes him immune to everything but kock back, but the fight and having malgus fight each team member 1v1 is awesome.

Does anyone know where I can find Battlemaster Stalker's Double-bladed Lightsaber or Blood of Korriban ?? biggrin.gif

I hardly use a Lightsabre as a Jedi. I use my Force Powers much more.

Pre-Searing wins first place hands down for me. Tython comes close to Shing Jea Island however, which is still saying something (I'm a fan the Asian theme).

Today there's some major updates taking place on the buffer end of things...

1) Right now, I'm remotely monitoring (And NOW after putting the ability in place, can actually update the base from here...thumb.gif) so, if anyone has any problems specifically with 9k OR randomly disconnecting, please PM me with your provider, data package and time ~ I can actually search the login server then based on those 3 tid-bits and find out exactly what happened. ~ Would be a HUGE help.

2) At this point, if there are MANY people interested in the Razer Naga Star Wars mouse, our office IS a vendor for Razer and I can make a bulk order...If there are more people interested, I can possibly get them at MPP...or, cost ~ It's not a guarantee, Razer is a bit flaky so, if you're going to inquire please assume you'll pay retail but, you are guaranteed one. ~ I will ship them from the office and all is well.

3) The forums are getting a make-over and at some point, I'm being bumped to an admin position@SWTOR ~ This gives me the the ability to help/possibly assist on MINOR issues involving lost data etc...If you have connection issues ~ Feel free to PM me and I can look over your exact stats.

What this means is: Do not spam me with graphic related questions...I don't care ~ Do not spam me with stupid questions that you can google...I don't care ~ Do not try and get a 2nd opinion on a banned account...I stand by the GM's (Which I met in Austin) and I do not care.

I do care about connection issues...I do care about 9k's...I do care about excessive disconnects...I do care about rubber banding, if extreme...I also care about log in server issues...

I do not come on these forums to represent anyone other than myself...My job / position at Bioware do not change who I am, do not change that I'm a volunteer (thus not getting paid, in this regard) and do not change my opinion...I will continue to give that opinion, regardless of community conception ~ I am not your nanny, I am not your servant and I have unblocked the two of you I previously blocked as an act of good faith.

If there are general, intelligent questions as well, please PM me, my ability to "troll" here as often as I have will diminish greatly in the next few weeks considering several future releases.

That is all, have a nice day.
