My conference call actually happened while I was on the can ~ Kinda sucked having to sit there 3-4x as long but, whatever.

Anyway, moving on.

A guide is essentially a volunteer that does work for the game...Essentially, they create quests, do some in game things with the customers and basically handle low end CS issues...For their time/service, they get some gimmicks, you know like a robe or...a custom lightsaber...Cool little gimmicks to reward them for their services.

A GM is essentially the voice of the CS dept. however, he/she technically often doesn't get paid...For WoW, full time GM's are only used for the real problems...Otherwise, you get a volunteer GM that can handle most of the same issues only, he works for his account time...This works well because, by the time he's paid off the account time, he's answered 100s or 1000s of tiddly CS issues and now they're resolved.

So in the MMO world, typically the petition goes as follows:

You petition...
Automated bla bla bla ~
Guide sees it...Okay, that's something I can't fix ~ Forwarded.
VGM (Volunteer GM) sees it...Okay, that's something I can't fix ~ Forwarded.
PGM (Paid GM) sees it...Okay, that's something that the CS department needs to fix but, I've investigated.
CS sees it...Okay, there's a real problem here, I need to fix this.

In any MMO to date, the above structure of petitioning takes about an hour...Actually, I have 2/3 interns that still play Everquest and the above has happened in 20 minutes or less, lately.

The issue that Bioware suffers most from is that...They didn't have any above structure in place.

Your "tiddly" issue goes as follows:

You petition...
Automated bla bla bla...
CS sees it...Okay, that's something I can't fix ~ Sent to GM.
GM sees it...Okay, that's something I can't fix ~ Forwarded to CS.
CS sees it again...Oh, that was a CS issue...Well, we can't fix it ~ Forwarded to CS2.
CS2 sees it...Okay, this should've been forwarded to us first but, it wasn't...We've got a real problem here, though...I need to fix this.

In SWTOR, the above takes 3-4 days because there's no real structure for your issues to filter through.

I can't go into specifics but, the above is relatively close to what's actually going on.

I cannot speak well enough about my experience in Austin...They knew what they were doing...Were extremely attentive...Quite honestly, I'd hire them //ALL// as interns tomorrow...

I had to do some glitch repair on the back-end this morning (That I promised to do before I left...Just didn't have time) and I woke up to the template in my email...I just told them how to create the NGINX base OST not 5 days ago...So, their will to improve this game and make it what you all want, is there...It's beyond there; they absolutely want this game to be a success.

I personally believe their issue is EA...and again, I can't say more but, it's very clear what they want to do with this game (Heroengine) and what their vested interest wants (EA)...

I think it will eventually get to where we //want// it to be but, it takes time folks, time.

I also have absolutely no AA issues at home...In fact, I have yet to see a jagged line much less my FPS drop under 90...

Bioware response to Ilum issues up. Apparently the turret issue was a rumor, but large amount of Empire folks were still camping Republic characters and that wasn't supposed to be what was going on. Still interested to know how much valor Imps were getting doing this, but this just goes to show you can't trust the internet.

People hit 60 valor in small amounts of time. You get 200 valor per kill and originally no penalty for repeat killing. With instant respawns you can see how quick it went.

Sounds about right. I've submitted quite a few tickets, and that's about how long it takes and by that time, I've got no better reaction than to roll my eyes and laugh, because at that point, a response is really unnecessary. I'm willing to do something in this line of unpaid work for BioWare, though them and I would need to have a talk about what is and is not acceptable chat and pc names, with some very specific and concrete examples that spring to mind, cos the line is obviously hard to define, and I know my personal position is much harsher than theirs -- not in bannings, but I'd issue a hell of a lot more notices and warnings based on my own personal position than BioWare would likely want. Anyway, pass that info along- that they've already got one eager unpaid worker-- if you think that would help. smile.gif

This info really hurts me. I could've cried when I heard they were being acquired by EA, and I can tell more and more, in the slow creeping way that is hard to detect until it's too late, that BioWare is becoming EA and it breaks my heart. BioWare policies/goals/asperations/--hell morality is not compatible with EA's. This game may be successful, but after some amount of time, with the regular turnover of employees, the atmosphere that BioWare had will be completely gone, replaced by EA's. I didn't actually pay attention to the reasons why the decision to be acquired was made, but I swear, if I were the religious type, I'd be praying to the gaming gods to give BioWare an out. I simply don't think they can survive in the long run as they are, as part of EA, and I wish to hell they could go independent again.

Yes and no...The official forums would have you believe that every turret was a certain valor and that they farmed the crap out of it...This is marginally true...I can't exactly go into full detail but, the VAST majority of the forum rumors are/were not true...In fact, 95% of the ones that I read were/are absolutely impossible.

I voted for a full roll back of 8 hours...a game-wide rollback with incentive, I.E. double exp for the next 2 days...and I also voted that we make an example of those that exploited a known issue.

Believe it or not, after word got out, Ilium was the most visited area in the game.

Moving on...They're dealing with those individuals on a case by case basis and hopefully, it's more than a slap on the wrist.

Today's update will fix some of the abilities issues.

Also ~ on my ship I get 15fps...This is because you're rendering space believe it or not...You're rendering a full space environment of every single planet, you just don't realize it. ~ This will be fixed soon enough, until then...Please, hold tight.
Ah That explains why I had such a huge drop in FPS when I chose my planet then walked around on my ship. Thanks Masked! Keep the news and updates coming are way.

Yeah...I actually played for @ an hour last night and when I was going back to the planet from my ship, I flew from the fleet to Belsavis and all of the sudden my FPS dropped to 10...So, I was like ehhhh? ~ Then I logged out and sandboxed it...Low and behold, you actually render the entire freaking galaxy when you planet-hop, where-as before, you just rendered your area + the planet.

This will be fixed "soon"...Technically it's a 1 line fix of rendering distance = x but, with AA involved, it got a little more complicated.

Once I hit that problem going to other planets after the hanger I always had like 20-30fps so i hit my windows key minimize the game then bring it back up, and BOOM 70-120fps no big deal.. just weird.

As for you guys that showed me how to use the Relics on my hotbar thank you! I got them keyed up on my black widow extra 5 buttons. PVP heal, PVP overcharge, 2 relics, and a huge medpack.
Now that there are brackets for pvp I finished 1st place 5 games in a row, and top 3 the whole night!!! Found some new gear I need, but I need about 600warzone commendations, so its time to PVP grind tonight, and work on hoth. Got 2 of the datacrons off of hoth, 1 was easy and the other quite difficult, but the strenght 4+ will take a full group with 1 to 2 healers. ( 1 using ranged DPS and heals, one strictly heals, my friend tanking, and me DPS) Then you get the datacron and walk over some where crazy and drop it etc saw the video so i'll let you guys know how it goes.

I see myself getting level 45-46 by end of the weekend (level 41 now.)
