Ill not argue the story was good in the game. But the end game content is not very difficult. And you can dispute the chart i linked but its the only numbers i have access to. And on my server we are to the point we had to call off out normal wed night raid. People are not logging in like they once did. imp fleet would hit 200 + people almost every night now maybe 100. Playing my alt there are maybe 25 people on the planets. And dont tell me about how the planets have different phases i know and that is not happening. I think when GW2 comes out this game will be hurt. Star Wars will always keep the fanboys but a lot will leave from lack of end game content.

My point isn't a lack of content its the quality of that content its poorly balanced and not dreadfully interesting. But heaven forbid derp the herper joins my group because his dps will be so pitiful that we might wipe due to a hard enrage timer better to just bring my companion. Bosses should kill you because you make a mistake or dont make correct use of a mechanic or dont work together as a team or even because your tank/healer are flat out not geared enough to live through the encounter (which is bad but gear checks in some instances can be appropriate) they shouldn't let you wail on them with no problems for 3 mins and then just say oops game over that is horrible game design. Almost every fight is a tank and spank with a slight twist, where the twist makes no significant difference to how you play it out.
*snip*

You must be talking about HM Flash Point bosses being boring. I am trying to think of a single raid tank & spank boss. Can someone help me out?

what server you going for?

Masked - I think Daoc at launch had atleast the Dragon Raid but im porobloy wrong ^.^

What made Daoc last so long for me, was the ability to Park a toon in a specific BattleGround, and with the invention of server clusters, I was able to make multiple 3 x 12 Characters all ont he same "server" in the same faction. I had a couple Twinks parked in each Battle ground
The Proving Grounds (Level 1-4) <--- For when your really bored haha, kill the beginners for fun
The Lion's Den (Level 5-9) <
Great Fun
The Hill's of Calret (Level 10-14)
Killaloe (Level 15-19)
Thindranki (Level 20-24)
Braemar (Level 25-29)
Wilton (Level 30-34)
Molvik (Level 35-39) <--- The BEST action here
Leirvik (Level 40-44)
Cathal Valley (Level 45-49)

When I first played Daoc, I got to 50 on my BoneDancer in roughly 2 weeks or so, Supression Specced Bone dancer with Strong DD Bolts and Instant Life Tap with a joke of a cooldown - And, top it off I had Bone Minions who could freakin heal me!

The original BattleGrounds and PVP in Daoc (before new frontiers and complete revamp of Realm Abilities) I had specced my Realm abilities into Swim Speed! this was early on however, the particular battleground had a Large Moat around the Central Keep, I would Park my healing Pets somewhere nice, and swim around like Torpedo, there was VERY little CC in this game so no one could stop me. And I would just circles around whole groups or solo'ers because they couldnt find my healers, and i could supremely ditch them Life Tap and DD em to death - some of the greatest battles ive ever had were in that game =)

Too bad that after all this time, I tried it out for 7 day trial, Ughh cant believe I played that Pos so long hahaha

I think when GW2 comes out this game will be hurt. Star Wars will always keep the fanboys but a lot will leave from lack of end game content.

That's just it...There isn't a "lack" of endgame content.

I'm a realist and if this game actually sucked as much as some other MMO's I'd be firing off about it, really...But, it's not.

Rift had 1 RAID and 6 instances for 3 months. -- WoW had 3 dungeons and 1 raid for 4 months. -- Aion had 4 instances and completely Pigeon dominated servers so you couldn't get end-game content unless you won that space...So we literally didn't have raids for 4 months (Caused the vast majority of the NA exodus from this game).

What's my point?

Star Wars has the most end-game content to date on release thus far, period.

There's no debating that because that's an actual fact...NO MMO release to date has had more content...

I understand that you can't fill raids...I understand what it "feels" like but, the reality is that the subscribers are MAJORLY CASUAL.

I think I need to start beating that term into people's minds because quite frankly, the hardcore raiders in this game just don't understand that concept.

The average CASUAL user plays 2-3 times a week, 5 hours at a clip...(Taking this next stat from Rift) The average HARDCORE user from Rift plays 6-7 hours a clip, 5/6 days a week. (Rift is a game with more content that's been out over a year).

Now, if 80% of your user base is casual, what does common sense tell us? ~ They're still subbed, they're still playing, they're just not on right now.

So, what are the hardcores doing? ~ Lying low until 1.2 ~ Because that's what the majority of the pop is doing, or leveling alts.

The subs are rising, are going to rise more and are going to keep rising...There's no dip because of cancellations -- That's elementary math folks.

It's being released in 2 NEW REGIONS, that are MAJOR regions...And you think the population isn't going to change, at all? Really? ~ Even with pre-sales? Really?

If we're going to compare apples to oranges, in the very least you could compare each MMO @ 2 months out instead of throwing games that have existed for 2+ years in their face saying they have more content...

Going to quote Carlos Mencia: "DUR DUR DURRRRR they've been around a lot longer..."

He did say with a twist. Soa HM is the only challanging boss and hes only difficult because the mechanics and bugs are ignorant. Within 10 seconds of starting that fight one healer is in a mindtrap the other is in a whirlwind. Or better yet a lighting ball is set to hit me and i get in a whirlwind and it just roams around and wipes people.

We are not hardcore we have had 2 raid nights from the beginning for 3 hours a night. And you are right rift had one raid but it was difficult. The content is easy. There is a vidoe of a group of 4 completing ev normal mode. What does that tell you. And i never compaired any other game to SWTOR. So you can take that Dur Dur comment and stick it up your (you get the idea)

I hit level 40 last night at long last. How long, proportionately, does it take to go from 40-50 versus 1-40?

lol HM SoA is easy if you bring competent people. For the chance that a healer gets Mind trapped and thrown in the air, bring 3 healers. HM SoA can be done with 3 healers, 1 tank and 4 dps thumb.gif 3 healers makes that fight a walk in the park.

Also, the whole 10 second to mind trap thing, you realize he doesnt mind trap until phase 2 right? it will take you over 10 seconds to drop down 2 platforms. The best bug is when the tank still gets mind trapped and everyone freaks out. xD. Because you know... dps don't have defensive cooldowns rolleyes.gif Most dps don't even know how to use them. xD

I understand he said "with a twist", and I don't agree with that generalization. I can say Soa is a tank and spank with a twist.... the twist being mind traps, WW, lightning balls, and the floor collapsing. I am not saying that all the raid bosses are hard, but there is no "patchwork" raid boss yet.

What bugs do you encounter on Soa? The only one I have seen is that "Lightning ball attacks player x, lightning ball attacks player y", but both lightning balls are chasing player x. If the balls get close together, it will kill player X trying to eat his lightning ball because he can't pop player y's lightning ball.

While I do admit SWTOR has some serious bugs, WoW's were far worse...

So was I wow was buggy for sure, that not something unique to any game newer releases have been significantly less buggy but the nature of something as big as an mmo is that there will be bugs. swtor is far from bug free too some more annoying than others.

some of the 40 man encounters were over-tuned as they were never play tested but I dont remember them being particularly buggy per say and I was competing for all the server fists and often had GM's watching/commenting on our raids so i cant imagine we were that far behind the curve.

Also i return again to the unfair but very real problem for all new mmo's your not competing against the release versions of any game you are competing against the current versions. Ultimately if SWtor had released as is in 2004/5 then it would undoubtedly be the best game out there but in reality its 7 years later so it has some catching up to do.
