NVM...

heatseeker is now hardly worth it again and has been returned to pre-1.2 status or even worse. Thanks Bioware, I was fine with the 1.2 nerf because our overall DPS didn't rly go down too much and we now had a good deal more burst. Now the only buff we got was barrage procs for unload and our overall dps and burst is lower then pre 1.2 mad.gif

Time to get serious about leveling my assassin I guess

Even though assassin is mostly MDPS, the Stealth Abilities make it a very fun class for PvP and PvE

Im messing around with a few more alts these days, tank Assassin and a Hybrid Operative (operative really just to help my friend lvl)

I still thoroughly believe Sniper is 100% the way to go if you want the uber DPS. Even Sorc DPS

Assassin is definitely awesome for PvP. Since I switched to the thrasher hybrid that was posted here I've been having a blast. The survivability is almost as high as wither spec, but the single target threat is much higher. I'm able to take down opponents 1v1 easily and still maintain my average postgame scoreboard totals.

How good is your sorc DPS though? I have guildmates who have been complaining that sorc DPS is terrible and they can barely kill anyone.

You do realize that every single class was balanced globally, right? ~ Things like these changes need to be taken in context and unfortunately, they're not.

Everyone got re-balanced and based on the re-balancing, everyone's dps is "where it should be" according to Bioware with the exception of the legacy boosts...But, those are PVE/Companion boosts not FP/OP boosts.

So while you call it a nerf and throw out overall DPS ~ You're not putting it in perspective at all ~ It's balanced in accordance with everyone else so, it isn't a nerf, it's simply in line with MY dps or a Sorc's.

There were also no numbers available pre-1.2 and when it //was// available at all, the re-balancing had already taken place on the PTS so, there's realistically no frame of reference at all.

My guess then is that they're doing it wrong.

I've gone back to playing my Sorc ~ Spec'd hybrid last night and pulled over 300k ~ Take note, I haven't played him in a month? Two?

...It's no surprise.

I play against a Sorc on Vornskr that destroys all -- It's insanity.

I also play with a Sage that's ridiculous -- It's all about knowing your class.

for once i agree with you =)

ive always played my sorc with some points in various DPS abilities within the Spec trees, leveled as a hybrid for the most part but kept mostly in the heal tree.

Whenever I do PvP, i pretty much act like im a DPS Class, using heals only when needed. Obviously with my sorc not having Expertise Its kind of a up and down situation dependign heavily ont he group i am with. Im in love with the new Warzone but really enjoying it on my other classes who are below 50

My most fun on my hybrid Operative , the assassin and the sniper - the SNiper is almost unstoppable these days im noticing.

On my serve ris a reallly really good Commando on repiublic (has a gatling gun so i think its a commando) and there has so far been 3 peopel to beat him 1 on 1 in a Dual, and one of them is my guildies Sniper - and the only One i see beat him is one of our Main Tanks for Ops, Jugger that REALLy knows how to utilize his interrupts to the fullest, most battles against him end with him not getting much damage.

Unfortunately for him though, when He fought my Sorc, he kept trying to interrupt my useless abilities that i would throw in to throw him off =) Eventually killing him with dots and Instas ftw! If not for my knowing how he plays, He would have interrupted my good heals and good attacks, instead he wasted almost every interrupt on something useless, like i would start casting Whirlwind and stuff liek that lol

That was interesting.

What is really interesting me more and more these days, is Companion Fight Club. i want to build a pressence suit soooo baaaaaadly!!
Since my Companions are finally starting to cross that Columi Grade gear, and some with Rakata, finding the companions useful to me once again since i have to grind dailies for Credits.

Last night we finished off KP NM Finally, with a random group we threw together too, not even a fully geared group ^.^ A little trouble on the Robot second boss guy
(sorry im bad with the names of robots..) because someone forgot to blast the damn guy with the puzzle dealio so we just ran out of time on him the one time =(

I Did however find it tough to heal, mostly because of the AoE proc on individuals who kept running next to me for some odd reason, after the first fail we got that taken care of =)

Unfortunately i didnt get anything, but a decent Rakata lvl Armor Mod for High WIllpower, now I just gotta find me some Augmented OJ's that I like and get crackin! Cus I am Tired of Lookin like im out of Dragon Ball Z lol

Post by Georg Zoeller related to the PVE vs. PVP gear for PVP debate from earlier. Basically: Get as much expertise as you can. Some other interesting notes in there as well. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Hey guys,

A few additional notes on this topic, fresh from a meeting with Gabe and the PvP team.

(a) Expertise difference between combatants is the single most important factor in time to kill in PvP.

Having zero or little expertise on your gear (e.g. pure PvE gear) is the primary reason for people to experience a sped-up time to death in Game Update 1.2. While it was quite viable pre-1.2 to bring your Rakata or Columi gear without any added expertise into PvP, the increased focus on expertise in the PvP track of gear has made it much harder to compete with that equipment compared to even the entry level Recruit set.

Consequently, the single most effective step you can take to decrease time to death (i.e. increase time to kill of your opponent) is to gear for increased expertise. Coming from PvE, obtaining at least some pieces of Recruit gear is definitely recommended.

We're aware that this fact is not adequately communicated in the game and that the cost of recruit gear is perceived as too prohibitive by some of you. We're in the process of working on a solution for these issues at the moment.

TL;DR: Expertise is a lot more valuable than any other stat in PvP. Recruit gear easily beats Columi for PvP.

(b) In response to your feedback, we've re-tested all classes to ensure they are falling within our desired DPS targets and found one issue with Demo Round / Heatseeker Missile which was getting increased DPS, not just from other people's stacks but also from an unwanted interaction with other skills. That issue was corrected in the 1.2.0c patch this week.

(c) There has been some level of inflation in the overall DPS budget of the game as result of Legacy benefits and other changes. Over time, these add up and as it stands, we have established that the global burst potential across the game is slightly higher than we are targeting. We will likely take some minor to moderate action about this in the near future by adjustments to the magnitude and duration of offensive relics (longer duration, reduced magnitude, identical power amortized over time).

(d) When faced with groups of enemies, stacking debuffs can result a real TTK issue. We are in process of revamping the debuff system in the game to reduce the impact of multi player debuff stacking on TTK.

Time to kill. It's really not that long of a phrase, I don't think the abbreviation is warranted. If a phrase has the same number of syllables as the abbreviation it makes me scratch my head.

Things sound cooler when you give them an awesome acronym!
