If I get 2 6970s...

I'm switching from Nvidia to ATI shortly because ATI is kicking Nvidia's ass (so to speak, sorry for the language). I would like to know, what do I need to keep these two cool in my case? Since their gonna be right next to eachother, one fan blowing on the other, should I not worry about it or how would I go about using 2?

For CF/SLI setups I like blower-style coolers; they don't dump heat into the case (or on eachother) and exhaust out of the case.
That's not to say you couldn't use another style, but you just need to make sure your case has really good airflow.

Semi-OT:
Who says AMD is kicking Nvidia's ass? They both seem quite good to me

^ this Get the blower style reference cards. They are louder, but only nerds whine about noise.

Well saying that the 6990 Crossfire is scaling better than Nvidia's 580, I'd say they're working their way up. Can you link me to something that your explaining? I'm kind of confused. I've never SLI'd or Crossfired. Also can someone confirm that a GTX580 is slower than 2 6970s? Or that they think it will run better with 2 of them?

Get another GTX 580 and kick butt.

Sli 580s are very powerful and you would be able to max out pretty much anything.

Two 6970s are faster than a single GTX580. Actually, if you compare two of each, they run fairly close. IMO, the 6970s in Crossfire are a much better value.

This is a 6970 reference card (blower style cooler):

This is an aftermarket card/cooler, which does not exhaust from the case:

For 719 bucks for both on tiger direct, I'd say yeh they are. My 1 GTX 580 cost 612. Alright i'll settle for the 6970 xFire, I just don't know what these blower things are. Can someone link me?

Just snuck the pics in before your post...ninja'd

As said the blower-style will typically be a bit louder (might even be a bit warmer), but it exhaust all the hot air out the back.
The non-reference coolers can run quieter and cooler, but they dump heat into the case (or on another card in CF/SLI).

That said, blower-style coolers are preferred by a lot of people (myself included), especially when you're using a multi-card setup.
If you've got tremendous airflow, then it might not be an issue, but the blower coolers just make temps more manageable for the cards/ambients IMO.
