Confessions of a Android user!

Thread Starter
i'm so corruptible, i spend most of my days talking smack about apple, but secretly i love iOS!

ah what forbidden, guilt riddled pleasure you are. when i flipped on my ipod touch tonight and seen the glowing silver apple, i felt really dirty

dunno, i like android and all, but i pick up any apple device and like instant gratification pours over me in buckets, like this is a piece of the triforce of power and i'm on a quest to save a princess.

i know i'm not the only person out there that has to put on a front when he is with friends checking out the latest microsoft/PC things, but secretly always looking over my shoulder towards the apple store. but hey, guess i'm already an outcast to them, as i've shed windows from my machine so i guess it wont hurt my image any showing up our next lunch with an ipod.

i guess i could always check cydia to see if they have a "android" skin for you and keep you tucked away.

so who else has a confession?

I hate my iPhone, nothing but software issues 24/7 on like every app. Every time I go to download something from the app store it says my account has been deactivated for security reasons. Kinda bs that I have to spend 5 mins fixing that to download a free app. I am going with Android 2.3 next.

Oh dude I love Apple, no really, I still think my iPhone 4 is a great device.. I just enjoy ease (and fun) of customizing of an Android. Honestly, I would take an iPhone any day if I can install Android on it. O_o

I've also got my trusty 160gb iPod classic with all my music on it. ^_^

i've got a 2.3 device, don't get me wrong it is great...but the biggest problem i have with android atm, and its not really androids fault, its manufactures like motorola, htc, samsung, etc.

they come out with 1 sorta high end phone, slap an unbelievable price tag on it, and then promote how android is open source and full of pure awesome, then they lock down their devices, and come out with bloated full of crap UI's, forcing us to turn to a much more competent modding community to fix their failings.

the rest of the phones they come out with, are dated technology, which makes upgrading problematic and then you get cut out of functionality and apps cause your device isn't fast enough.

my suggestion, do a lot of research so you know what you are getting into.

blackberries are cool, don't have any sort of fascination with them.

That doesn't make any sense. The iPhone hardware is pretty poor by today's standards, the only reason it's still relevant is due to how slick and fast iOS is. Android on an iPhone I fear would be terribly slow.

The "unbelievable price tag" is still cheaper than an iPhone 4. The Samsung Galaxy S II is $599.99 off contract compared to the iPhone 4's $659.95. The Samsung Galaxy S II was released less than a week ago in Canada yet the iPhone 4 has been around for over a year.

As for the bootloader, Motorola and HTC are both working towards unlocking the bootloaders as they both realized it was a mistake to begin with. When you start fiddling around with custom ROMs, you'll notice how superior they are to the stock ones.

The rest of the phones they release are dedicated to those who don't want to spend $600+ for a smartphone. A HTC Wildfire S at $300 off contract isn't too bad considering it's price point.
