Negative. 100 x 44 is 4.4GHz. 105 x 44 is 4.62GHz. You should theoretically be able to get away with 105 x 42 (4.41GHz). However you're also increasing all the other speeds along with it (PCI lanes, PCIe lanes, DRAM, etc.). So you would have to test stability again. You might need a raise in vcore, VCCIO, or VDIMM at that point, and it wouldn't be much.

Ahh. I read differently, just don't remember where it was at. Something about how SB chips were still based off previous generation i5 / i7's, so most of the same rules still applied.

Either way, 1.65v is still perfectly safe to use. Otherwise there wouldn't be 1.65v rated P67 kits out there.

thanks for the info, i was wondering about this. I just updated my buddys rig to a 2600k (got it though the intel retailedge program cheap) but i was using his ddr3 from his previous build which was 1.65v and will not run below that so i was worried it might damage something but it looks like it will be safe from what i read here
