Take the side panel off.

TR-Archon or Zalman 11X. The 11X has new heatpipe design which makes it cool just as well as the obnoxiously huge coolers, but much smaller.

As you can see in the chart, the H80 is a few degrees better than the 920. The C-14 is on par with the 920. Price wise, the C-14 is $90 on Newegg, while the H80 and 920 are both $110 and $120 respectively. To me, it's either C-14 or H80.

Removing the side panel fan kind of kills it though. Usually when I hear someone mention they had to take off their side panel fan to fit a CPU heatsink they own an Antec 300.

Oh and speaking of the Scythe Susanoo, OP, since it's so huge and has four Slipstreams it will cool much of your board, kind of eliminating the need for a side fan. However, it will only cool a GPU if it's in the top PCI-E slot (it'll be blowing directly onto the PCB). The Susanoo does a really great job at cooling though, beats the NH-D14 especially in extreme overclock situations and also cools your memory, VRMs, NB etc. I saw someone push a Thuban to 4.8 GHz on one.

I am seeing this from other folks as well. I have just about decided on this unit for my new sig rig instead of air.

Thermalright Archon or Venemous X. I heard the Archon is about 170mm tall from the mobo pcb to the top of the heatsink. I read an xbit labs review on the archon where it performed on par with the silver arrow with only 1 fan (they both come with identical fans) and surpassed it with 2.
