In the market for a new TV

Hey guys,

I am currently in the market for a new TV for my room, however I haven't been keeping up with TVs much, so here I am.

Our only constraint is really that 32" would be the best size considering where it will be...so what are some good 32" Tvs out ATM? Should I go LCD or Plasma? I'm thinking a samsung LCD, they look nice and my friend has one which is rather awesome. The look of the TV is slightly important, however I would rather picture quality over the aesthetics of the actual unit.

Anything amazing that I should look at?

Cheers,

Glen.

Hi, i'd go for the LCD, although i've heard plasma is better for watching sports, & then there is the LED's & from what i've seen on display they look awsome.
& yes as i am a Samsung LCD owner, i defenetly recomend getting one, there great TV's/monitor.

Samsung are great and I would steer clear of LED and get a standard full HD (1920x1080) LCD with an inbuilt tuner if you dont already have/want a seperate digital tv box etc. Contrast ratio's and response time are almost irrelevant because all new age panels are on par in those aspects so dont buy into overpriced marketing hype.

Also, make sure you get yourself a good deal by shopping around, dont be afraid of comparing lots of panels in that range.

EDIT: Furthermore you mention that it is for your room, a close viewing range and consistant lighting will be good for a 32incher so I'd agree with you and say that its a good priceerformance ratio decision for you.

Thanks, samsung it is. Why not LED? I think the one I saw was an LED one and it was amazing? Do LED TVs not come with a tuner or something?
