No. LGA2011 | X79. However you will be able to use Ivy Bridge on P67/Z68 in March/April 2012 provided you Update your Bios.

Well personally All I'm gonna need is the proc, mobo, and some ram. But yeah the platform pricing is still within reason assuming these perform well.

I love my AMD CPU's and I still recommend Intel for doing a better job, but what you said there is sensationalism at it's best.

BTW I would like to have a look into that crystal ball you have there to see the next episode of Criminal Minds.

The pricing makes me believe Ivy on 1155 will have a 4c/4t and 4c/8t version, if so and they're compatible with current 1155 boards (save native usb 3.0) its total win imo

Thankfully I got away from the more cores equals performance mindset AMD was trying to sucker me into.

All i care about is the 3930 SB-E being capable of at least 4.4-4.5 Ghz. with decent voltages/temps in a full loop.

If that turns out to be the case, consider my money spent, Intel.

Also, you don't know anything about BD performance and even if you did BD and the 990X are in completely different price ranges. You're much better off comparing the 8-core BD variants to the 300$ 2600K, which also btw has near 990X performance depending on the situation.

OT: yeah I'm sure I can't wait to have one of these. I just hope that they OC very well.
People buy apple desktops, but look at the turnover that is.
