Noppoo Pro mechanical keyboard?

Thread Starter
So I've been looking for a mechanical keyboard and have found this one on ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Noppo-pro-Mechanical-Gaming-keyboard-Cherry-MX-Brown-/300573732681?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item45fb972f49

It seems to be pretty solid, but I can't find any reviews or first hand opinions about it. The other two keyboards I'm considering are Steelseries 6Gv2 (how's typing on it though?) and Filco Majestouch Brown (would it be worth the price difference?). I don't really want anything with MX blues so it seems these are my best options. Thanks for any suggestions.

Check GeekHack for reviews. I own a Filco Ninja with Browns and I can tell you first hand that it is amazing to type on. The 6Gv2 has mx black switches on it and those are considered the hardest to type on. If you are looking for a board specifically for typing, I would recommend any board with brown switches, especially a Filco. IMO, its worth the money.

Personally I have the Noppoo Choc Mini and it's fantastic:

Don't know much about the Pro model, but I highly recommend the Mini.

Lol I second what he said about the Choc Mini. Small, compact and a joy to use.

Also I would take a Filco over a Steelseries board any day.

If you do decide to take a look at the Choco Mini, I would also look at the KBC Poker. I wanted a 40% board and made a tough decision between the Choco mini and the KBC. Ended up ordering a KBC only because I didn't want the function keys found on the Choco mini.

Yea, I've heard good stuff about it, but I'm looking for full-size and can't find any reviews of it besides few pictures on geekhack. I'd hope the pro model is of similarly good quality. It's now between Filco and Noppoo. The price difference here is about £30 (~$40). thinking.gif

Look like there is more than a version.

It seems a more detailed review has just been posted on geekhack:

http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:20275

Looks really good, especially for the price so I think I'm go go for it.

Thanks everyone.

As a fellow citizen of ripoff Britain I should warn you, my Noppoo Choc Mini got stuck in customs. The fee was an extortioante ~£25. Don't forget the paypal currency conversion is far higher too. Overall it becomes rather expensive.

The keycaps on the Noppoo are pretty dire tbh. I've replaced most of mine with Cherry caps from another board. All keys using a stabalizer wobble and rattle, so need a bit of modification. My recommendation - buy the Filco from http://www.keyboardco.com/
