Stop 'blind recommending' please!!!! - Page 2

The best thing for people to do is not to recommend anything specifically, but to give advice on the differences between his best choices and let him pick for himself.

Just because you bought something, it doesn't make it the best.

tell me about it. I havent invested in a headset because I bought the Creative Fatal1ty headset and got flamed because i thought it was a good headset cause I had never owned a gaming headset before and now I dont have a headset cause i returned it :/

And Thats why i link to the manufactures websites as much as I can. So if the OP is from outside the US he/she can go to their favorite e-tailer and look them up

Yes, and even worse is if people recommend things they don't even know about.

AD700 and Zalman Clip on.

Oh, you mean you didn't want blind recommendations... but this is OCN?!

Seriously though, totally agree here... shame the people that actually do blindly recommend things probably won't even see this thread, or just won't care.

Just as reference, I was blindly recommended both the AD700's and Zalman.. the mic was garbage [got 2 replacements from Amazon assuming they were defective.. they were just cheap trash] and the headset was extremely average for my usage so I simply returned them.

No, it was just lacking common sense on your part not buying a new headphone to replace the Fatal1ty's and waiting for it to arrive before returning it.

frankly ..............you have a point . but these recommendations are right , personally i tried most of the products i point about in some thread (most)

so i think its not that BIG deal , cause the reason for similar recommends is answering the same thread , like this:

OP : hi all
i`m noob and i need a sound card , can it help with my (he has some trash equipments) i play alot of FPS and listen alot to 50 Cents

the Smart Guy:
yes sure it will help , a dedicated sound card is better than onboard beca............
but tell us what are you interests and the budget you got

OP : well i game most than i listen to music and i have around 250$ budget

the Smart Guy :
yeah you can get the Titanium HD or if you dont play BC2 get the Xonar ST/X

OP : why BC2 ?

OP : bump

the Smarter Guy :
the CMedia chipset seems to h................

OP :
thanks well i do play BC2 so i will get the HD but i need a good headset

the Smart guy: (returns)

get the AD700 or if you like some extra bass get the bassier sister the A700 then buy your self a Zalamn Clip-on MIC1 and dont get headset

OP:
thanks all i think i will stay with my onboard and buy myself onother GPU

i swear almost 90% threads are like this one

I agree with you completely OP. However, I'm guessing it's just human nature to comment on what you already have, as that's what you know. And if it works well for you, you can explain to people to see if it could work well for them!

Personally, with regards to speakers, it's whatever sounds best to you, the individual... but if you don't know what sounds good, obviously ask someone in the know. Personally I'm a musician, and a gamer... So I went with SP2200's from Corsair. (Just for example), because they do me for my gaming/musical needs.

I know many would say I was wrong in purchasing them, but the're 2.1's and they don't take up much space on your desk! So... yeah it was ideal for me.

So yeah, the person looking for speakers would take this into account, because it's helpful to find out what you want. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to go out and buy your recommendations, unless they're not very knowledgable, and do not really intend on finding out for themselves, so that basically means, any speakers with a subwoofer would be good.

Just thought I'd rant for a bit... No idea why XD
