I added the T1 as it's the best representation frequency response graph wise to a balanced sound. Balanced sound in headphones is not flatline like in speakers due to the influence of the outer part of your ear, called the pinna and it's bumps and curves. What matters is not the actual line, but how the actual line relates the other frequencies along that same line.

What's interesting is that the HD555 is high treble recessed as well i.e. sounds like cymbals won't sound as sparky and lifelike. the HD555 is about 4 dB recessed in the lower bass, slightly less in the upper bass. Factoring in that a lot of wub wub dubstep is based on frequencies 60Hz and under....

That said, it's just impractical to write this posts like this all the time as the OP will most likely not care. If they ask for proof, like this time, then yeah sure.

I used to own a pair of HD 555. The bass volume is not that loud. The bass quality is decent. For wobble dubstep, there are better headphones to get. HD 555 is better for organic music imho.

By the way, Skrillex is not really dubstep.

This is the exact reason as to why I only respond to topics that have something to do with these headphones. Why? Good question... Maybe because I own(ed)/tested them...

Most importantly, list your budget. The most popular bass-y headphones around here (and Head-Fi for that matter) at the M50s at the ~$100-150 price range, but you can do better/worse depending on your budget.

As for the rest of your post, people here will recommend headphones+mic over headsets because that's almost always a better deal. Most people who come from headsets are amazed at the difference they get with the same money spent. Most people who want a "headset" simply don't know the alternatives are so much better, and its our responsibility to inform them. That's not a "blind recommendation", and it's not ignoring their request, it's just good advice that needs to be repeated often.

Your argument is for non modded 555's.

Thanks though.

Oppions are just that, and users who have tried a product are a great source of info, what some call crap, others may say there great or just fine. Also, like stated befor, manny things can matter on how or why some one can or wants to buy a certain product.

And sorry all, but i just dont see noobs, or peeps that seem to not know flap away, but also thoses with lots of green dots or even with a MD signature be very wrong in the way they recomend a product on here. ya, read reveiws, but not just one atleast a few, than take what is said on here and compare what you have learned. Besides just like Blueray/DVD-most couldnt tell the diff even if they say they could.

But yes i do %100 agree that if you have absalutely no hands on about a product, make sure you state this is what i read or heard.

Guess after 15 years of loveing to mess with and build computers, this old master carpenter has learned manny lessons the hard way. Oh ya, for got, no i never learned a thing in any class about them, all hands on and self taught, but have about 200 systems i built to go on, its a hobby-kind of like eating peanuts cant stop. lol
