Apart from that 2500k, there's nothing in the budget sector, you can get a Phenom II 965 for under $150 and that'll beat any of the Core i3s, i5s, etc you can get in that price range (On a non EOL board) and actually OC on top.

Those are just a few I could post probably around 10-15 different links. But Google and find out more if you wish.

What evil people, how dare they donate millions to universitys and what not. What is this world coming to.

Don't bother trying to present facts to fanboys. For those idiots, it goes in one ear and out the other.

If you're happy with that kind of performance, good for you but for others who actually have the disposable income, you'll get much better returns.

Don't you? You would expect them to do much better unless you are fanboy who buys Intel every time because it's Intel. An enthusiast wouldn't realize that either company doesn't make nearly as much off of their high end,as they do in the lower end and mainstream segment.

If you really believe corporations use some system of moral codes to do business, you need to get out your mom's basement. Corporations are immoral. The only thing that matters is their bottom line and their investors and that includes AMD.

I guess the only thing AMD has going for it is the low end market? If you're fans, wouldn't you want them to do better? Why the low expectations.

Great links, but you know that the fanboys are still going to think Intel is evil just because Intel has been making better processors than AMD for the last 5 years....

But just to add one more, Intel recently spent $5 billion to build a new fab in Arizona. That's $5 billion helping the US economy. What an evil company huh, building fabs in America and putting billions into the US economy.

Fanboys will be fanboys. You can try to show them facts and reason, but they'll just counter with another fanboy comment about how Intel is evil, blah blah.

Need I remind you that it is AMD's former CEO who is in caught in a hedge fund scandal:

Hector Ruiz, the soft-spoken executive who rose to prominence as the chief executive officer of Advanced Micro Devices, has been named by government prosecutors as a senior executive who allegedly gave inside information in the Galleon hedge fund scandal, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Well, I transcode videos so Intel is all the way for me, but for gamers I can see why they'd rather put $50 extra in a GPU for better OCing (eg. Buying a TwinFrozr III) or a higher end one than in a CPU.

Because Phenom II was only competing with the mid-end before Sandy Bridge came out, and now it can't compete with it.

Bulldozer I hold expectations for, not as high as most but I still think it'll be good.

All in all, it's about as I expected.

This also goes to show that when AMD was leading Intel, it was by slightly more than by what Intel is leading AMD, despite Intel being roughly two generations ahead.
