My first thought would be have you done any overclocks or messed with any settings in your bios?
My board will do this if it doesn't like something in the bios when I'm OCing. Basically, it's the board doing a soft reset on your CMOS. Without, more info on your system and what you were doing when this happened I can only give you a wide range of possibilities.

Internal PLL Over-Voltage-Disabled , no more cold boot problems !!!
I am stressing this right now!!! If you are having cold boot up problems with system looping on and off, disable this and it will more than likely solve your problem, although it is sometimes needed for high 48+ multi clocks!
