You are saying just talk is going on, so how do they have figures where its 50% faster then current AMD cpus? Even if that were, true AMD's current architecture isn't very good, if there wasn't a massive jump, see >100%, then its not much of an improvement.

Again, all of this is just complete speculation at this point. Holding out for this is such a bad idea.

Also lol @ thuban being close to i5 in actual performance for gaming, stock clocks alone there is a massive difference.

The OP was designing this as a gaming build, not for anything else. And if you believe that an 8 core system is going to be > then a 4 core for gaming, then you are sadly misinformed.

The current gen of AMD cpus run into some harsh bottlenecks with upper level cards and xfire/sli. Hopefully BD fixes that, but at this point you can only recommend what is good now and not what may or may not be good later based on no data whatsoever.

the 50% increase is coming from AMD themselves
and how can you say that 8 cores wouldn't be better than 4....have you ever used Physx.......
and im running SLI...had trouble with bottlenecking for like 5 minutes but i fixed it with correctly clocking GPU and CPU....

I'm sticking with the 2500k.

But as for the GPU and PSU, you guys know any good ones? And I want to keep my budget below $1500

Also someone said to replace my current CPU Cooler with a Hyper 212?

Games generally aren't multi-threaded

6950 twin frozr III is an excellent card.

Stick with XFX, antec, Corsair, Seasonic. They all use Seasonic rebrands, which is the best psu on the market.

You would be much better off with a 212+ then that. If you want to get a better cooler though grab the silver arrow, frio, or Noctua D14. 212+ is best bang for your buck though.

are you going nvidia or ati with ur gpus? is suggest a 6950 2gb or maybe a couple of 560 ti's, again depending which direction your leaning. if you want a clean case make sure you get a fully modular psu, or even a partial one like the corsair hx series(only one i can recommend from experience). and def stick with the 2500k, if you're anywhere near a microcenter, go grab one there for $180

as for your cooler, just go with something that a) you like, b)fits in the case, and c)fits 1155(if u got 2500k). not too many color choices, but there are some out there. i know theres the prolimatech megahalems thats a black/green camo if ur go nvidia themed. i got a x-mas addition fenrir titan which is black and red. All the top cooler perform similarly with a push/pull set up, just get one you like

You might also want to look into getting an SSD for your operating system and a few select applications you would use most often.

As far as GPUs.. depends on your needs - if you're doing any kind of video editing or photoprocessing.. industry standards softwares like Adobe and Xilisoft use OpenGL (for photos) and CUDA for video to cut times down while encoding/transcoding (and it's awesome! I use it all the time for work).

Currently, I also use my AMD 1090t oc'd to 4ghz - it was very easy to OC as well. (I also have an i5 slightly OCd at work and it was very easy as well.)

Bad choice for cpu cooler in my opinion... You could get frio for about 10 dollars more, and the frio would scare that n520's pants off..
