Any phone that works similar to an iPod?

Thread Starter
Is there any phone that works similar to my iPod touch 2g? Such as being able to store videos in it, Music, A nice OS (Not required), and games/apps.

i usually just buy those free, low-grade phones that you just use to talk and text. But carrying my iPod and a phone around gets a little annoying. I've looked into all the smartphones but they require data plans to be used.

Im not really knowledgeable in the mobile area, so if anyone can give me some suggestions on what phone fits my needs that would be great.

If you want a phone even remotely similar to an iPhone, you'll need a smartphone with dataplan.

Then you're looking for an iPhone. That's exactly the iPod touch plus phone and text features. Other than that, you're looking for any android OS phone then. But all of these, you're going to have to pay around triple digits

Buy an unlocked phone from an online store not your provider, this way they don't trick you into getting their data plan. Go for something with good battery life, like Sony Ericsson Xperia x10, or some HTC phone with 4.3" screen so you could watch HD videos on the large screen. Who is your mobile provider?

You could use an Android phone for calling/texting without actually using mobile data, but you really have to get an unlocked device. Just get something that isn't in your network provider's catalog (i.e. get a T-Mobile phone for AT&T) so they won't detect your phone and charge you for a data plan.
