I know everyone's gonna say "Android is completely different from iOS" Well you have to consider what the average phone was like prior to the initial iPhone release.

I don't know, what was it like? A phone maybe? I don't know about everyone here, but in general all of the modern devices leave me truly unimpressed, particularly those that are fully touch-screen. Maybe I'm old school, I don't know. For me the level where the "smart" portion of a smart-phone can stop is at music, email, GPS with maps, and web browser. Everything else is a load of useless male bovine excrement.

They are planning to monopolize? It can't be. Our enhancement in technology will suffer if they forbid other developers to do so.

You think you're old school ? I don't even have a cell phone right now and when I do it's always the cheapest prepaid black and white screen phone I can get

To me a phone is only useful for calls and texting, I really don't need GPS, e-mails or anything when I'm out of the home, and I hate gaming outside, even with my DS.

If you have a video card, audio chip, pretty much anything other than a cpu, then its infringing on Apple's patent.

And people wonder why I hate Apple.
Sadly there are a lot of tech companies that do this. There was a study done recently that estimates 30% of all US patents that exist are on something that was already invented by someone else at the time of the patent.

I just posted this somewhere else, but I can't stress enough that people really should read this article:

kinda getting tired of apple trying to soil their competition for this type of stuff...its like a car company suing another car company because they both require a steering wheel to be operated....
I'm actually hoping Apple becomes a monopoly for a while...so they'll get broken up by the Department of Justice and have to split into several smaller, weaker companies.

It'd be hilarious if Microsoft bought out the newly divested Apple software division.

i'll never buy anything from Apple ever. their products are not innovative at all (as was previously said) they charge a fortune for a junk phone that really hasnt changed since first gen (only the shape of the device itself.)

their mp3 players dont do anything that any other player cant also do for a fraction of the cost. the fact people have sucked on this teet for this long already shows good marketing beats good products every time. i just bought a HTC Sensation and wont hesitate to continue buying HTC products.

and yes i just plain dont like apple products, nothing will ever make me change my mind.

i feel the same way. no way in hell i'd ever BUY an apple product. there are plenty of better alternatives out there! Acer Iconia tab or ASUS Transformer easily beat iPads, most high end android phones rape iPhones, and some MP3 players like my Zune can beat it easily. if only my Zune HD had a bigger screen, proper app support (WP7 APPS OR SOMETHING PLEASE) and Microsoft still supported it Zunes HD would rape iPods easy.

the only apple product i'd consider is a macbook pro, and those are ridiculously OVERPRICED -_-
