[FOSS] HTC vs Apple :: HTC Banned After 2012 in US Market? - Page 10

The iPad display's and several other iDevice displays have been provided by LG.

Sony disc drives have been utilized in mac devices for years as well.

HTC, Samsung (aside from recent news looking at implementing AMOLED displays in the iPad 3) have almost literally no integration with the iIndustry or iCommerce so Apple feels that they can freely attack them, its an obvious move. This is probably a safe move for Samsung, and will probably keep them in the clear for the iWars.

lol wut?
samsung provides SoC's, NAND flash IIRC, SSD's in various apple products
iPhone, iPod storage, MBA, MB series SSD's etc

you just contradicted yourself
apple as a matter of fact does have an ongoing lawsuit against motorola for patent infringement as well IIRC (same patents as the ones in dispute with HTC)

Just having a little rant here to myself, which many will disagree with.
I see a lot of 'experts' spread things saying Microsoft never invents their own tech, and only takes it from another company or what have you. This might be somewhat true, however, at least they don't seem to stomp out the competition as much as Apple seems to do.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although reading that again to myself I thought of something new. Maybe the reason they don't kill the competition as much as Apple is because they need it to steal their ideas from.

Hahahha joking, Ily M$.

Ah yes. I forgot. Opinion = Truth.

But no. Every other Tablet on the market (there abouts) has removable storage, USB ports, etc etc. And pretty much everything the iPads lack. Unfortunately the iPad lacks many things. Like a decent, open OS, the ability to use exteral storage cards, the ability to use a keyboard and mouse and basically, the ability to do things that alleviate the need to buy crap off Apple in order to make them work.

Give me ANY other tablet from under the sun and I'd be happy. If I won an iPad in a competition the first thing I'd do is sell it.

You forgot flash. Nothing more annoying then going to view a news video, only to be greeted by a white, blank screen without any explanation to why not.
I don't care if it may be 'bad and power hungry code' I just want to view my video.

Then all android tablets are just enlarged android phones?

Trust me, iOS is no rip off of WiMo. Have you ever used either? And above you said the iPad is just an enlarged Palm, so which is it?

And the iPhone was not successful because of the app store. Mainly because the App Store wasn't even available when the iPhone first launched. It was plenty successful on its own.

Arguments like this do not lend to your credibility at all. They simply make no sense because you're horribly misinformed and inconsistent.

Yuppers, one's that consist of the ability to connect to a cellular tower or satellite. But frankly, you are praising apple for designing something new. In fact, they haven't done anything new except for a marketing method towards their app store.

How so? Because it consists of a different UI and a different kernel? They function the same, even consist of nearly the exact same file management systems where Windows Mobile and Android offers more control over your phone. But frankly, Windows Mobile had applications that supported flash well before Apple. And windows mobile came first and offered everything Apple had.

Quote:
Have you ever used either?
Yup, I've had 2 windows based phones that were used for a period of 3 years (various builds under 5 and 6). The family also consists of an iPod touch, an iPhone 3GS, a galaxy tab, and I have used an iPad.

Quote:

The Palm reference was in towards the days that Palm was developing PDAs. If you look at their GUIs, for file management, you notice a trend. All such devices share many similarities, and frankly, it was Palm and Windows that brought it all to the table first.

It would have died just like all the devices before hand. If you haven't noticed, people buy new products. The success of the iPhone is due to its App Store. As you can see, the iPhone offers absolutely nothing more then what all the other phones do, other then how its app store was marketed. Let alone, with the false claims that apple gave to the public.

Do you notice the shocking differences? Palm had 4 less icons in that PDA. Looks like Palm should wave their patents around at apple as they have blatantly copied the entire function of their UI. Try looking up the dates and see who came first.

What did apple do that was revolutionary? Scrolling by page horizontally? Audio? Too late. Video? Internet? Touch? Camera? All in which phones before the iPhone had. What exactly outside of how the app store was marketed did apple have exactly?

Why would you need a keyboard and mouse for a tablet?

personally the Ipad had more pros than cons
