Thinking of buying a Zune HD

Hello OCN, recently I've decided it would be nice to have a music player that could fit in my pocket. At first, I was looking at the 4th generation of the iPod Touches, but I found for a 16GB one it was very expensive. I began to look at Zune's, and I like the price on them, $160 straight for a brand new 16GB model from a trusted retailer(walmart). I couldn't really find many prices better than that, please let me know if you do. Here are my questions-

I'd like to keep my audio in the highest quality format possible, would 16gb be enough?

$160 is an ok deal, right?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Highest quality? 16GB? No. Not enough.
I'm assuming you'll be dealing with FLAC or WMA Lossless?

Pretty sure it supports WMA but not FLAC

ZuneHD != FLAC.

Zune doesn't handle it to my knowledge.

I have a Zune (regular) 30gb and I fill that up sometimes. I think you're going to be really missing that extra space. Since they have been discontinued, I'd expect them to quickly drop in price.

EDIT: Vegascart (probably not the most wellknown retailer, but has a lot of positive reviews) has the platinum 32gb for same price (165) http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=Zune+HD&um=1&hl=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1680&bih=949&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=18337188548510199308&sa=X&ei=IvkuToXcO9DCswbt-_gy&ved=0CG8Q8wIwAQ

I paid half that for my used 16GB Zune HD. Best Buy has refurbished 32GB models for $140, or a 16GB for $100.

Regarding the player itself, I mostly like mine. The interface isn't perfect, and the web browser is barely worth using. Other than that it works great.

Since when did someone say the Zune HD equaled FLAC?
I was merely asking if he was dealing with FLAC or WMA Lossless files.

The Zune HD will handle WMA Lossless just fine.

Thanks for the responses guys, a couple more questions:

Are the used/refurbs worth buying? Is battery life an issue, ie. refurb units not being able to take a full charge? Do these things break often, will I need the warranty?

Sadly the vegascart thing is out of stock.
