16:10 is the aspect ratio that iMac displays use, right?

I am confused because on their website it says
http://www.apple.com/ca/imac/specs.html
"Resolution: 1920 by 1080 pixels"

but if it's 16:10 wouldn't it be 1920x1200??

I have only opened one box.. Hoping I can still return the other unopened one at NCIX...
Just give yourself some time to adjust. After being on 16:9 for a while you'll never want to go back to 4:3

Seriously, 16:10 vs 16:9 is not going to make a huge difference.

Just make sure you are running the correct resolution in game. There's no reason things should look distorted.

EDIT: Yes, but you need to set the new resolution in games too, not just windows. Make sure it's set in games too, or they might be running some random 4:3 resolution as well.
And no, don't go 4:3. That is terrible, even though I still use it.

And no, I don't think iMacs are anything but 16:9

OK then I think I may just need to calibrate this monitor... The color is washed out so I set it from "Standard" to "Dynamic". But the fonts seem blurrier to me then on the Samsung. Both are LCD monitors without LED backlight.

Also, is there any way that I can set my BIOS screen to 16:9 aspect ratio? It looks odd at 4:3 and quite blurry during bootup.

It's pretty jagged on the edges.. As a jpeg should be maybe.. but definitely not a vector.
Looks like there's some loss on the optimization too?

Yes but if it's a perfect circle anyhow, my assumption is busted. You are at least using the correct aspect ratio.

What do you mean that games look stretched on 16:9? If you go to see that circle in the steam browser while in game, and it's still round, then your games look the way they are supposed to. And it doesn't look distorted at all. So bother clarifying what you meant by that?

My monitor only seems to support 60Hz. Is there any way that I can change it to 75Hz? Also, white outlines on black text (like in Firefox tabs) seem to make the text appear blurry.

Other than that, I'm getting used to these huge monitors!
Took me a while to conform from the 4:3 standard to 16:9...

Kind of surprised I can't get the same clarity with white outlines on black text as my old Samsungs but maybe that's still fixable.

Also the colors seem to be very strange sometimes.. oranges and greens are way off. I'm looking for Windows and OSX software to fix this.

Thanks
