Did anybody else notice that the forward and back side buttons were reversed on the Spawn? I had to install the drivers just to fix that stupid ****.

Yeah, my spawn was the same way.....but at least its an easy fix. I wish I could go into the drivers and raise the perfect control speed slider up a few notches.

Unfortunately after a week of battling I've decided to return my spawn mouse too.

The sharp leading edges of the mouse feet are dragging all over my mouse pad (mainly when moving up or down) causing huge friction and making me lose speed/ control of the mouse.

I've tried a brand new Qck Heavy, goliathus speed and a boogie bug pad.

It's a real shame because the shape of the mouse is perfect for my hand, I feel a bit sad returning it - people will say I could buy after market feet but that's besides the point: I don't feel I should have to do that to get a brand new mouse working the way it should in the first place.

Also heard people talk about wearing the feet in but after 5/6 evening sessions of scraping my mouse around my pad I've lost the plot.

Quote:
The spawn mouse is very sensitive for mouse pads, and it will work fine when used on a very clean surface.
Every little dirt on the mouse pad will make a scratching sound.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the problem, only to keep the mouse pad as clean as possible.
Was CM supports response.

I'm sure others are having much better experiences with this mouse, I must have just been really unlucky (UK user by the way)

I got mine today.

Out of the box, mine had the square bug. I lol'd, and then updated the firmware. Unfortunately it still didn't feel right, in fact in games it almost felt like I had some minor positive accel happening. I think I just got a lemon.

Needless to say, this thing is going back.

EDIT: While the mouse just isn't for me, my educated guess is that the perceived positive accel is actually the result of the mouse being quite a bit lighter than my 3.0, so I'm overshooting targets a bit. I may open mine up to see if there's a way I could add about 20 grams to it.

Also, more mouse manufacturers need to use the rubber side grips that this and the valor possess. The grips are simply awesome.

What is the square bug?

Mine comes soon so I am trying to get prepared to evaluate it.

Curious what this bug is as well. Also, I didn't notice any accel on mine and I actually thought the mouse had some heft to it (weight wise) but that's coming from an abyssus. I think the weight is pretty good.. but if anything would prefer it to be lighter haha. To each his own I guess.

I think he's referring to the old firmware that would draw a square instead of a circle at 800 dpi.

Yep, this.

Mine just needed a firmware update to get rid of it, but the mouse still wasn't to my liking, because it's just a tad too light for me. I don't like heavy mice, per say, but the spawn makes my 3.0 feel like a brick in comparison. Too light for my hands.

So I've been using it for a couple of days and my verdict on general performance is that it just seems weird to me. The transition from Xai to Abyssus to Mico came naturally, but going over to the Spawn just doesn't feel right. First of all, I really don't like not being able to have a DPI setting lower than 800. I have to drop back the Windows pointer speed to get it where I like it on the desktop, but that leaves the mouse feeling somewhat imprecise, which really starts to manifest for me in games. Something about it just feels less accurate, even after using it for about two weeks.

It's very comfortable to grip and I love the rubber material on the sides, but it's just not the mouse for me. I hit the perfect control speed even on the 30a firmware and I REALLY hit the perfect control speed on the others. The LOD doesn't bother me either, even on the QcK+. It doesn't seem much higher than the other mice I listed.

Have you guys noticed the red coating getting shiny? Mine seems to be wearing off a little bit.
