My CM Storm Spawn Experience - Page 13

The red coating still looks great on mine, after three months of steady heavy use, but the white Spawn logo and CM Storm logo are starting to fade a little. Doesn't bother me, the feel and grip isn't affected at all so far; it's purely cosmetic, and not even that noticeable, except when I had a second new and unused Spawn sitting beside it.

What I'm talking about is only really noticeable under direct light. Could you shine a light on it to check? It sort of looks like speckling or as if there is light staining.

Nope, nothing. Looks fine, no variation in the finish anywhere, other than the white logos fading a little.

I noticed something a long the lines of what you are talking about right when I opened the box, but I think it's just the way the paint is (slightly metallic looking) and not the coating.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I was also able to hit negative accel on this mouse quite easily. I was also able to do this with the Valor, though some may point at flawed firmware there. I was able to make this happen at 30a, and on 32 I was actually able to hit a speed where the mouse stopped tracking completely (I was also able to do this with the Valor).

That's two different mice, with very different firmware, but the same sensor. I'm starting to think the 3090 is not the sensor it's cracked up to be in terms of perfect control/malfunction speed. Then again, I think the only mice I haven't been able to do this to are the Deathadder, MX518, and my Qpad 5K (on my Zowie Swift).

It's not a good sensor. The perfect control speed on it went from bad to terrible going from the 30a to the 32 firmware. I don't usually have sensor problems with mice, but some of them are just glaringly terrible. The 3090 and the Philips Twineye fit into this category.

So is it safe to say the death adder has the best performance out there now that all the spawn bugs are showing up?

Well puretrak claimed a perfect control speed of 3.96m/s which would be way more than enough for me but then they ultra failed the firmware so that makes me wonder if its true or not.

Specs recorded at 1000dpi. Not to be confused, this is not the set PC/MS of all A3090 sensor equipped mice.
But in all honesty, the perfect control speed was so low with my CM spawn that I think the fault is on their end and not the sensor in general.

Yes.
I will most likely pick up a DA to compare to the spawn so which one is currently the best model of the DA? I see 3, 3.5, 4, black, etc.

Have you guys tried testing the perfect control speed on hard surfaces like the Mionix Propus 380 or the Artisan Shiden?
