And I'm sorry HaiiYa, I don't believe your spawn results. You can hunt for excuses but it won't change my results. Its a mediocre mouse with a mediocre sensor (in the hands of CM at least) that is entirely outclassed by sensors that have been out for half a decade.

The results of the esreality test is not accurate enough as they were only using 1 surface and obviously used the setpoint software during testing. So the perfect control speed is not 2m/s unless you are telling me you use the same usb rate and old bugged setpoint software or is using the steelseries sx or worse for testing.

That or you can can really do 3,5m/s which I highly doubt

Its more likely you lied about the perfect control speed in the zowie mico review, which means we can ignore everything you said about the spawn perfect control speed.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the spawn I'm only telling my own experiences with the spawn. You didn't even know if you did change the firmware, you just think you did. So who are you to call me a liar, as with all the others that didn't experience any problems with the spawn? You are not some superior being that can detect things that we can't!

I didn't lie about the perfect control speed in any of my reviews, why the hell would I even do that? The spawn has a low perfect control speed, lower than most, I'm really sorry that offends you.

Tell me, how can you prove you changed the firmware on your spawn? I explained I used their firmware updaters, they completed successfully and the performance changed... and when I returned to the default firmware the performance returned as it was out of the box. That is enough proof for anyone not being a moron like you about it. This is such a stupid argument that you keep trying to make yet you never explain exactly what proof you're asking for.

And I never said I was a "superior being" where the hell did that come from?

I don't believe your BS review saying the spawn has "FLAWLESS" tracking and you don't believe mine showing problems, leave it at that and move on. You're in my review calling BS, I'm not in yours doing the same. Maybe I should though.

I get jitter too when doing diagonal lines slowly in paint, 1000hz polling rate reduces this effect compared to 500hz, why don't you try hard surface ? One ocn member stated that the spawn is unskippable just like the DA, if you use a hard pad that is, try lowering polling rate to 250hz, it will increase the perfect control speed to something that you will find more acceptable, i guarantee it

Btw any solution for the feet ? I have to wipe them every once in a while with my thumb ( ) or too much dust gets stuck and the glide on hien feels very rough and uneasy.

I can't stand using hard pads. I tried getting used to them with my abyssus and Xai but the slick glide just doesn't work with me. I tried the spawn on my slightly worn 4HD and it was absolutely skippable.

Lowering the polling rate under 500hz isn't something I would want to do to overcome a sensor flaw. I would test it at 250 to see if that raised the perfect control speed but I already shipped the spawn back.

Is there any way to check the firmware version of the mouse? I just got mine and I'm curious as to what is shipped with. I guess I can list some first impressions: first off all, the mouse packaging came badly dented but the mouse was unhurt. Cord is less stiff than I had anticipated. The shape was incredibly odd for the first few minutes of holding it. I wish they had made it like a quarter of an inch longer and a little taller in the back. This my first 'light-weight' mouse, so it too ka few minutes to get used to that but I'm really liking how much control I have over it. Desktop tracking seems fine of both QcK and 9HD for my uses, but haven't gotten into a game yet with it and I have no idea of the firmware versions. LOD isn't a problem for me because I am a much higher sens player than Derp. Also, I downloaded the software and must say that I miss the profile switching on the G700.

My spawn's box had a sticker on it saying "Firmware 30a". If its the new batch then they shoud all have that as their default firmware.

I have the CM Storm Spawn and it is a freaking awesome mouse. The ergonomics for a fingertip grip are great. I play SC2 at the high masters level, and this mouse has completely replaced my MX 518 as my main. The ring finger rest makes it much easier to apply lateral forces to the mouse to move it. Overall, the design makes the mouse highly maneuverable at its 86g mass.

I've had zero issues with jitter or lift off distance during game play. Running at 1800DPI, 500Hz.

This was one of the only small mice I could find designed for fingertip grip that had back and forward buttons that I consider to be a necessity since they make web browsing much easier. Razer's offerings: the Abyssus and the Lycosa don't have these, so I didn't even consider them.

In my opinion if a mouse isn't performing well enough on generic mono-black soft mousepad, it's fault of a sensor not a mousepad. Jitter at 800 CPI isn't a problem really if you are willing to lower windows' slider to 4/11 or 3/11. At least it's not a problem for me. High lift off on the other hand is unacceptable, so I'm using fw 32 and LOD is fine. The only really annoying flaw is low max speed. 2 m/s is poor if you are using low sensitivity settings. It's quite sad, because sensor specification says it should be performing better than older Avago products.

For any RTS, RPG or modern shooters Spawn will be great. Unfortunately I'm playing just CS 1.6. I like Spawn, and I'll keep it though.
