p8p67 startup error after OC

hey guys after i performed a bios update yesterday i noticed a message from American Megatrends upon startup saying asking to enter setup or recover bios files. when i press F1 enter setup it takes me to the bios where i exit without saving and windows boots normally.

my overclock is stable so i dont think thats the issue but any suggestions of how to get rid of the message and whats causing it ??

EDIT: when i start up the computer turns itself off then turns back on ?? my overclock is using 1.28 vcore at 55degrees load?

thanks guys

Ensured all your setting are correct in bios?
Usually when you update the bios it will revert alot of settings back to default..

I would go into the bios and hit "F5" then "F10" saving and exiting!
And then re-do the auto overclock

Would redoing it through Ai suite cause any issues? so i need to go back to default speed or do i just simple press "overclock"?

my main concern at the moment is that my pc is requiring two attemps to boot
sometimes the fans rev up and nothing happens

edit: never mind i did as you told me and im back at 3.3ghz i might retry the overclock later today thatanks for the help. Oh and since im back at stock i boot up fine and the bios error has disapeared. any advice on reattempting the overclock through asus AI suite?

I'd just reset back to stock! Re-boot and do the auto overclock
What speed did you auto overclock too ???

Hey guys,

after reseting to default (fixed the boot issue), i re-overclocked from the bios using the optimal system setting tool that basically increases the frequency using stock voltage (i think) and everything seems to be stable and i don't get the american megatrends bios warning anymore

however, if i was to shut down the computer and turn it back on i still get the problem where the fans rev up for about 3 seconds then everything turns off and after another 3 seconds turns back on then starts up normally.

EDIT: ooh also if i was to restart the computer there isnt any boot issue, its only upon shutdown and manual reboot

any suggestions?

thanks

Alot of Asus boards do this, mine eventually went away after a CMOS clear. To be honest I wouldn't worry about it if your machine is functioning properly otherwise.
