16:9 vs 16:10 - Page 31

If you play SC2 or MOBA games, 16:9 is better for that purpose. When it comes to FPS, it becomes more of personal preference. Some of the best players in the world prefer to play CS or CS:GO at 4:3 aspect ratio.

If you want a safe pick, just get 16:9 because the majority of PC games are designed for consoles.

They probably don't specifically prefer the aspect ratio but prefer the lower input lag on the CRT monitors.

They play on LCD monitors at tournaments. Notice how they are using 4:3 resolution on 16:9 monitor. It is just what they are used to, I suppose.

when I play on lower resolutions than native, the game feels faster. At 1280x1024 on 2560x1600 monitor it felt the best.

I like 4:3 over widescreen for desktop use but I'm vastly out numbered in that opinion. you can't find an LED 4:3 LCD for a reasonable price or I'd run two 4:3 monitors instead of just one.

For games (with only a few exceptions), 16:10. I use 1680x1050 for now but I plan on upgrading by the end of the year. Desktop use, I love 4:3 for some reason. This 16:10 LCD is the first non-4:3 monitor I've owned and 4:3 is just what I'm used to.

Never owned a 16:9 monitor and don't plan to. biggrin.gif

I prefer 1920x1200 but I use a 1080p screen as the prices for them are much better.

I can't stand 16:9 monitors...

16:10 if you have to have just one.
