What makes this anymore official than wccrumormill? They are saying the exact same thing. Inside sources, no proof. Why would anyone think it's official if not from AMD themselves?

They shouldn't.

However, don't expect official word from AMD. For both the Llano laptop platform launch on June 14th and the desktop variant on June 30th AMD provided no official advance warning of the NDA lifts.

I expect bulldozer to be the same. All we know officially is that FX is shipping to retailers and OEMs sometime next month.

Official or not, I would like to get my grubby hands on a FX 8170! 3.9 GHz stock! Easy 4.5 GHz overclock and maybe more.

If this is the case, September for sure. If not September, August.

That's a nice release date... If it happens to be true, it would be perfect for me because it's 8 days after my b-day and I'll get enough money for a 955 BE after a suspected price drop... Possibly score one used after the price drop for dirt cheap.

I really hope that AMD puts out a product that does what they are claiming that it can do, but I remember the phenom II x4 975 (3.6) was the chip that could compete with the 2500k and it was simply crushed. Then too AMD kept pushing back the release date and when the chip was finally released, it was good, but it just could not compete with Intel. I hope that Bulldozer kicks ass and competes with Intel, but I feel that they are many months late to the race in that when Bulldozer is finally released Intel will be coming right behind them with the socket 2011 extreme chip and then Ivy Bridge possibly stealing AMD's thunder. IMO
