AUTO settings or Manual Tuning.

Thread Starter
Now i have been trying to get a stable 4ghz overclock on my 965BE which i have done, but now trying for 4.1ghz im having some trouble. I set my bios back to default settings and all i changed was the milti to 20 and 205 fsb and NB 2660. I also manually set the Vcore to 1.5V everything else was left in auto. It ran IBT 20 times and passed. Then i wanted to set all the setting i could see in AMD overdrive into the bios (Vram, CPU/NB Volts, HT freq) when i did this and ran prime and IBT i was telling me system unstable......

Should i just leave the settings in auto appart from Vcore and Multipliers, or should i try to fully tune the bios manually???

Using the bios to tweak settings will always be superior to any kind of "auto-tune" feature. I would avoid using AMD Overdrive if possible. Its a bit of a noob program if you know what I mean. Also, running IBT 20 times doesn't really stress the memory part of your system fully. You can be IBT stable but still crash or bsod in games. If you can go AT LEAST one hour on prime 95 blend without error's then you are on the right path to full stability.

Be sure your DRAMv is what it is supposed to be maybe even one step up.
