2hrs passed, seems stable now. I'll stress it again overnight, vcore in bios is 1.325V. Durring stressing it stayed at 1.280V sometimes jumping to 1.288V.

Now to do some gaming

It looks like you have a golden chip, if you can run 4.5GHz @1.325. I've got mine at 1.365v (1.352v in CPU-Z) to run stable 4.4GHz (won't cut it at 4.5GHz AFAIK). I haven't tried lowering the vCore since I'm almost at 12hours stable. Temps maxing out at 73-78-77-74. Not bad, with my H50...

If you want it more stable, turn of Hyperthreading... that supposedly helps in getting higher clocks (but if you got Hyperthreading at 4.5 GHz good for you!)

My bad it was 1.335V in bios Still pretty good eh?

Still on stressing shows 1.280V-1.288V on CPUZ

Ya. That guide for beginners is great. Helped me a ton and I'm brand new to this too. I just overclocked mine to 4.5GHz at 1.28v. At full load it drops to 1.264v. It's been running prime blend for an hour and a half now, so I'm feeling optimistic. Temps are maxed at 61 on my Corsair H60 cooling, but I put it in push/pull to get better temps. I think I got lucky on my chip though. Sounds Luke your vcore is still better than most for that speed though. Awesome!

You set your vcore at 1.28V in bios?? Seems like we both got good chips

Dont call victory yet, gotta stress it overnight at least 8+hrs. I gamed BF:BC2 and GTA 4 no BSOD, awesome last test would be leave prime95 overnight. Its amazing the speed of the SB chips, and I havent still tweaked my Memory yet its running at 1333MHz and not the 1866MHz that it suppose to run

Turning HT off makes it essentially an i5-2500K, right? If you're going to turn off HT then you might have been better off getting a 2500K instead.

Yeah from what I read yes, if I didn't wanted HT I would have just gotten an i5 2500k.

Funny caption though lol.
