I'd run random applications to test for stability as well. I can run Prime95 and LinX without BSOD or any kind of crashed. Then I decide to go on youtube and I get BSOD. Or shutting down my computer will sometimes give me BSOD as well. Strange stuff huh?

I don't know em too well, but there are other differences between the chips IIRC... caches and such

Ok, so I got mine stable at 4.5GHz with 1.29v in the bios. After vdroop at full load, it drops to 1.28v and doesn't go lower than that. 12+ hours in prime, so I'm ready to call it stable. Are you planning on taking it any higher? My idle temps range from 29-35 in the different cores and 63-65 at load, so I'm thinking I should be able to push it to 4.8GHz or so depending on where the wall is for my chip. Any thoughts, suggestions?

I guess I we got both good chips. I got 1.335V in bios but CPUZ shows 1.280V while stressing. For sure we can push it too 4.8GHz, but im really happy with the speed atm. For sure I think I can hit the 5.0GHz mark with HT on.

Not sure if you tried yet, but I had to increase vcore in bios from 1.29v to 1.335v in order to just jump from 4.5GHz to 4.6GHz and be stable. At full load it usually runs between 65-68C, but at hottest reached 70C. Not sure if it's really worth it to jump to 4.7GHz or 4.8GHz at this point. I'm pleased with the results so far and don't want to risk destroying the chip. Any advice from anyone?

The 2600K has 2MB more L3 cache than the 2500K (8MB vs. 6MB) but I'm not certain that's worth an extra 100 bucks.
