Another Deathadder Lift Off Thread...

Thread Starter
My new DA 3.5G arrived today and I love the mouse except for the lift off. I tried the DVD test where each DVD is 1.2mm in height and it took 7 DVD's before it stopped tracking!

That's 8.4mm and that is far more than the 2.4mm-4mm that has been thrown around. Trying to use Photoshop is a nightmare because I cannot accurately place the mouse like I can with my $20 Microsoft wireless mouse. Is there something I'm missing in the settings/firmware updates?

The DA 3.5G uses the Philips Twin Eye sensor and this is a problem for the sensor.

Your best option is to get a new mouse.

The DA 3.5g doens't use the philips twin eye. The newest firmware allowed my DA to get like 1.2mm-2.4mm LOD on a puretrak talent. Update the firmware. Also, what surface are you using? Apparently white surfaces have lower lift off distance than dark surfaces.

As Mardi already pointed out, the DA 3.5G uses the best optical sensor on the market, not the fail eye.

@OP, Ill have to parrot Mardi again, what surface are you using? If I remember right a stock DA 3.5G was giving me around a 3.6mm lift off distance. Your result sounds like a surface problem or a defective mouse.

I just updated to 2.45 and it didn't change anything. I'm using a Goliathus Speed.

Then something has to be defective with it because I used the 3.5G with that exact mouse pad to get the 3.6mm LOD. I would probably contact razer about it. 8.2mm should sound outrageous even to Razer.

No positive or negative acceleration problems at all, this is very refreshing after dealing with the Xai. And yes, Razer did in fact eliminate the jitter. Add those positives to the fact that the sensor does not have prediction and I am very happy about this sensor's performance. The only problem is the high lift off distance, on my goliathus speed pad it is an annoying 3.6mm.

It seems like a lot of people use the tape fix so I cut out a circle from a roll of opaque scotch tape and placed it on the sensor and incredibly it does work. The lift off distance is now less than 2 DVD's thick! Of course now I have to worry about the tape coming off...

Thats funny I could say the same about your cm storm spawn. But I guess the rest of us that are not experiencing the same problems as you are liars and not honest?

"PS. To those who complained about low perfect control speed, you were right, thank you for being a good and honest mouse reviewer. To those that claimed the perfect control speed was as high or even close to the DA's or couldn't get it to skip...... SON, I AM DISAPPOINT."
