Themes and backgrounds

Thread Starter
How do I change my background pic to something I want? I noticed that there isn't a personalize button so I can change the theme or background. I can find the screen saver though but that's it.

I have a Toshiba netbook model: NB505-N500BL D3

I have Windows 7 Starter on this netbook.

You cannot theme Windows 7 Starter.

If you are willing to cheat the system...

BUT I Recommend this way.

Also, If you want to run a transparent aero like regular Windows 7...

Well I could ask this but why did Microsoft made it so you can not change even just the backgound? Does having a different background slow the computer down too much?

I do want a free version so I can just change the background and that's it.

Create the following DWORD_32 entry in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Authentication\LogonUI\Background
Value: 1 (DWORD_32) Entry: OEMBackground
Prepare a file named backgroundDefault.jpg which has file size no larger than 245 kB and put it in
C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds
