Odd problem with XFX 6850

Thread Starter
I just received an XFX 6850 today, slapped it in my computer, and it refused to display anything . I cleared CMOS. Success! It was up and running. I went and ran it through a bit of Unigine Heaven for a few minutes to see if it was well. No artifacts or anything, seemed fine. Tried overclocking abit and it didnt seem to want to go past 865 core on stock voltages.

Then I realized I only had two cores on my cpu . Oh yeah, the CMOS reset. Went back to unlock the cores, then the 6850 acted up again after restarting, blank screen . I stuck my old 4670 on to get a picture on my monitor, worked fine; went to bios to disable a core (tri-core now). Put the 6850 back in, no go. 4670 back in, turned off ACC/EC Firmware to bring it back to dual, 6850 in, now it works .

Ok, well I thought maybe this was a PSU problem. My 520HX seemed to have zero problems running an overclocked 5850, GTX465, and volt modded 4850 along with my 555BE being unlocked to quad, so I was confused. I took the 520HX out, and put my old 750w FSP in there (Epsilon based PSU like the OCZ Gamexstreams, etc), that didnt seem to help.

I dont know what to do anymore. Im just confused, lol. I guess the card is a dud? Or maybe motherboard is acting up. I dont know

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

edit - Also forgot to mention that I can't even overclock as a dual core without the 6850 acting up...works fine if I have my 4850 or 4670 in there

edit2 - Returning for exchange; if the next card doesnt work I think it might be my UD4P. I read about people having similar problems with running GTX460s on the board D:

edit3 - I bought a gtx460 from a friend for fairly cheap today and it works flawlessly, guess it really was the card (derp). Still waiting on the replacement 6850 and hopefully it works.
